There are a ton of perks when you're the richest athlete to ever step foot on Earth. Michael Jordan sold his basketball team for billions, a $29 million mansion that he doesn't mind hasn't been sold for almost a decade, one of the rarest cars in the world … The list goes on.

But one of the most expensive single purchases Jordan ever made with his money to date was on an $80 million yacht named ‘Joy'. What's more, that's not even the only yacht Jordan owns. He also has a $21 million yacht called ‘Mr. Terrible', which is pretty fitting when you compare the two yachts he has to his name.

First acquired by Jordan in 2016, the vessel spans 230 feet in length and outlines at almost 10 feet. Its maximum speed is 16 knots while its cruising speed is 12 knots. He was first spotted cruising with the yacht on his way to the Caribbean island of Saint Barthélemy with some of his closest friends. Lastly, the superstructure is built of Aluminum, the decks are made of Teak wood, and the entire ship is insulated with glass aluminum to accommodate the changing weather and was specially developed by Bannenberg & Rowell Designs.

Amenities inside Michael Jordan's yacht

Michael Jordan named this yacht Joy for a reason. Anything that can bring him or anyone joy can be found inside his yacht. For starters, it comes in five decks, eight cabins, an indoor jacuzzi, a movie theater, a spa, and a stunning dining room. One of the biggest perks of this yacht is the owner's pavilion. This is where you'll find the yacht's penthouse suite, personal office, and a terrace to check out the best views of the ocean.

If you plan to stay active while on the yacht, it has you covered too. It also comes with a gym and an indoor basketball court. After all, what more can you expect from the yacht of one of the greatest basketball players in the world?

When it comes to maintenance, Joy definitely doesn't come cheap. There's a crew of around 19 people onboard the ship 24/7 and costs $800,000 a week to maintain as per Marca . Luckily, this yacht isn't exclusive to Jordan or his friends and family. In fact, anyone can rent Joy for a week. All you'll need is $840,000!

Take a look below at some of the pictures of Michael Jordan's super yacht.

"Joy," Michael Jordan's $80 million yacht, is one of the GOAT's most prized possessions.

Michael Jordan's $80 Million Yacht Is a Luxury Boat Fit for the GOAT

Let's face it: The average joe, or even most above average joes for that matter, isn't going out and buying 200-foot super yachts. Only a select few of the most successful people in this world can afford such a luxury. Take the greatest player in NBA History, Michael Jordan , for example.

There's pretty much no denying it: Michael Jordan is the GOAT. Not only was he an NBA legend who won six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls, but the five-time MVP also turned his Jordan brand into a super-successful business, making billions of dollars for Nike and opening the door for other athletes to do the same, like LeBron James. As of today, the billionaire owner of the Charlotte Hornets' net worth puts him on the Forbes list year after year.

Now, Jordan is no stranger to boating. A while back, he bought a massive sport fishing Viking Yacht named Catch 23 . It rocked the Air Jordan 3 sneaker elephant print color scheme, and he commonly used it to compete in fishing tournaments. However, one of his more recent purchase puts his old fishing boat to shame. I mean, it is an $80 million luxury yacht after all.

Below, we'll check out what the North Carolina's native pride and Joy (that's the boat's name, by the way) has to offer.

Michael Jordan's Yacht a.k.a. Joy

Coming in at a massive 230 feet, Joy can be spotted miles and miles away. With eight different full-sized cabins onboard, the yacht can house family, friends, or anyone else worthy of staying in the Master Suite with no problem at all. Inside, you'll also find a full bar with a beautiful dining room area and a 270-degree ocean view. Of course, Jordan has also hired some of the world's finest chefs and bartenders as crew members, to serve himself and the guests while out on the water.

Along with an amazing view, the rear deck is fitted with a jacuzzi and a surrounding lounge area for hanging out or tanning. Jordan isn't the kind of person that likes to just sit around though, so it makes sense that there's also a full gym at his disposal to get the blood pumping. Those five-star meals need to get burned off somehow. Additionally, it wouldn't truly be a yacht owned by basketball player Michael Jordan without a full-sized basketball court. He may not play professionally anymore, but that doesn't mean he can't teach his guests a few lessons on the court from time to time.

When it comes down to it, Jordan is a businessman. Because of that, there's also a room that's mainly dedicated to meetings with important clients. The room is fitted with top of the line audio/visual equipment, and a satellite to give a presentation that is nearly impossible to decline. What better way to pitch your ideas than from this luxurious meeting room?

To put things in perspective, this yacht costs around $840,000 each week in order to man the ship and to keep the vessel in seaworthy condition. Not exactly a small price to pay on top of the $80 million price tag, but for the top-of-the-line amenities, it seems to be worth every penny to Jordan. He truly is living the life, pulling up to the beach club on a Caribbean island, ready to take play some 1-on-1 with anyone willing to take on the GOAT.

Michael Jordan , one of the greatest basketball players of all time, is the proud owner of the “Catch 23” . With an estimated net worth of around $2 billion USD, he is more than capable of maintaining this $8 million Sportfishing yacht , even with annual running costs of approximately $800,000 (Give or take).

The Catch 23: An Overview

The Catch 23 is an 80-foot Viking Sportfishing Boat built in 2018. Known for their high-quality sportfishing and cruising yachts, Viking Yachts has its roots in New Jersey, USA, and was founded by brothers Bob and Bill Healey in 1964.

Today, the company is one of the world’s leading yacht builders.

Equipped with powerful MTU engines, the Catch 23 boasts a top speed of 40 knots and a range of over 500 nautical miles. Designed to accommodate up to 8 guests and a crew of 2, this Sportfishing Boat is perfect for sports fishing tournaments and leisurely trips alike.

The Catch 23 calls Jupiter, Florida, its home dock, but Michael Jordan has been known to take it up and down the East Coast of the US and the Bahamas for various sports fishing tournaments.

Over the years, the Catch 23 has participated in some of the biggest Marlin tournaments in the world, such as the Ocean City, Maryland White Marlin Open and the Big Rock Tournament in Morehead City, North Carolina.

Michael Jordans Jet Wrap

Jordan’s yacht and private jet both feature the same wrap print based on his iconic Air Jordan 3 sneakers. He uses the Catch 23 for sports fishing tournaments and relaxation, often enjoying cigars and good company on board.

The captain of the”Catch 23″ is Stetson Turney, and he has performed well for Mr. Jordan. For example, during the 2022 Mid-Atlantic Tournament, the crew secured a first-place finish with a 73 lb White Marlin, although I don’t believe Jordan was on board.

michael jordans catch 23 yacht

Despite being a vessel designed for function more than luxury relaxation, Jordan has ensured that the Catch 23 is equipped with comfortable and stylish interiors.

The yacht features white leather and marble finishes, as well as hardwood surfaces, allowing guests to relax on couches, bar stools, and booth seating in the salon and galley on the main deck.

The enclosed flybridge is spacious, offering ample seating for guests who prefer to be near the helm rather than downstairs. If Jordan chooses to have a crew on deck, this space ensures that everyone can socialize and enjoy their time on board.

A Closer Look at Michael Jordan’s $8 Million Yacht

April 14, 2022 by Martin Banks • Print Story

Michael Jordan, the owner of the Charlotte Hornets and possibly the greatest basketball player of all-time, dropped the bag on an impressive yacht in 2021. Named Catch 23, it cost a whopping $8 million and currently sits in the harbor of Jupiter, Florida.

The name has a triple meaning. It invokes the famous book and old saying "Catch 22" while integrating the boat's main function — fishing — and Jordan's iconic basketball number, 23.

This yacht is just the latest example of Jordan's competitive nature and propensity to drop serious dough on his various hobbies. Aside from his accomplishments on the basketball court, Jordan is an avid gambler, golfer, and accomplished fisherman, participating in deep-sea fishing tournaments in the Atlantic and Caribbean.

Let's take a closer look at Catch 23's features and see what all the fuss is about.

Aboard Catch 23

Catch 23 is a Viking 80 made by Viking Yachts, one of the most prestigious yacht manufacturers in the world. It's a 2018 model with some balanced measurements:

- 84 feet long - 103 tons - Standard MTU naval engine - Tops out at 40 knots (about 48 mph) - Range of over 500 nautical miles - 2,600-gallon fuel capacity - Fits eight guests and two crew members

The boat's hull has an elephant wrap with a blue, white, and grey color scheme. These colors invoke the Jordan 3 basketball shoe and his college days at the University of North Carolina, where he rocked Tar Heel blue as a promising young NBA prospect.

The deck is designed for functionality, with a standard layout and plenty of seats and storage to handle a deep-sea fishing expedition. As you will see, Catch 23 is more of a hobby vessel than a refuge for relaxation. Still, the interior has enough luxurious features to make up for it.

The interior has a pleasing design, with white leather seating and smooth hardwood tables. There are couches for lounging, booths, and bar seats for eating, and an impressive kitchen with white marble countertops.

The hangout areas and sleeping arrangements comfortably fit 10 people (although the master bedroom takes up most of the space). The bathroom has a sizable shower, making hygiene a much easier task than on other ships.

Not that Jordan needs to watch his spending — he has a net worth of over $2 billion — but he did overpay for Catch 23. The vessel notably cost $2 million above the Viking 80's original value for two reasons: the custom design and the overall spike in boat prices. Boat prices have risen by almost 10% in recent years, enticing many people to sell their boats just to break even. We don't think Jordan will have this problem, but other boat owners should be aware of this trend.

Catch 23's Performance

Catch 23 isn't a fancy yacht by upper-class standards. You can certainly find more extravagant yachts in the water, including another owned by Jordan. His other yacht is a 230-footer named Joy that cost $80 million, but he can't exercise his competitive spirit on such a leisurely behemoth. This time, he opted for a sleek multipurpose vessel, just like his style of play on the court.

Catch 23 has a custom frame built for both leisure and competitive fishing. It has plenty of space for a small crew and all the capabilities to handle deep-sea fishing. Jordan himself caught a 442-pound marlin as captain of the ship at the 2020 Big Rock Fishing Tournament in North Carolina. He also caught a 25-pound mahi-mahi (dolphinfish) at the same tournament in 2021. Those catches earned him eighth and fourth place, respectively.

Notorious for his obsessive winner's mentality, Jordan made a point to win a fishing event with his prized vessel. He accomplished that goal by taking first place at the 2021 Buccaneer sail-fishing tournament in North Palm Beach, Florida. Although Jordan wasn't the captain, he reeled in two of the seven sailfish Catch 23 caught during the two-day event.

When he's not participating in world-class fishing tournaments, you might spot Jordan lounging on Catch 23 at its designated spot in the Jupiter harbor, casting lines and enjoying the boat's luxurious features.

Find Your Catch 23

While you probably don't have $8 million lying around to spend on a high-class yacht, you might have the funds to invest in a reliable compact fishing vessel. Boating is a challenging but fulfilling hobby, with energetic and relaxing features that everyone can enjoy. If you've always wanted a boat, start your search now and you might find your own Catch 23.

By: Fatima Roshni Image credit: The US Sun

Known for his milestone achievements in professional career, NBA legend Michael Jordan created yet another trademark, making his mark among the list of the 400 wealthiest people of U.S.

With a net worth of $3 billion, Michael Jordan, one of the wealthiest sports athletes of today with 19 years of retirement from his professional career, has been living a luxurious life.

From having a partnership in the Charlotte Hornets franchise to millions of real estate properties and different business ventures, the 60-year-old has established quite a lifestyle as of today.

While discussing his purchases, Michael Jordan's $80 million luxurious super yacht named 'Joy' however comes into discussion among his several other purchases, including a $21 million yacht.

After spending nearly $3.2 million per month on its maintenance, the purchase of the expensive yacht from his collection dates back to 2016 at the time of his increase in wealth.

In terms of specifications, the 230-foot-long and 10-foot-wide superyacht indoor area covers eight cabins, a jacuzzi, a cinema and spa room, a dining area, a penthouse suite, and a personal office.

As an established basketball player himself, the yacht also boasts a basketball court in remembrance of his prominent 16-season career in the NBA as well as a gym to keep him in good shape.

Michael Jordan’s Yacht Life. Inside the NBA Great’s Multimillion-Dollar Fleet of Yachts

Michael Jordan is enjoying smooth sailing since agreeing to sell his stake in the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets for a reported $3 billion. The former NBA champ has at least three multimillion-dollar yachts — an $80 million yacht called Joy, another yacht called Mr. Terrible worth $21 million, and one named Catch-23.

michael jordan yacht inside

Inside ‘Joy’

Joy measures 230 feet (70 meters) in length. Bannenberg & Rowell Design created Joy, which has a top speed of roughly 16 knots and a cruising speed of about 12 knots.

michael jordan yacht inside

The super yacht, launched in 2016 and purchased by Jordan in 2019, has a total of five decks, each built of teak wood. The owner’s pavilion, which gives a 270-degree view of the ocean and features a chic owner’s lounge for enjoying a luxuriant yet private moment, is one of this opulent ship’s key attractions. The master suite is exquisite, and the bedrooms have mosaic skylights that overlook the ocean. Additionally, there is a stunning owner’s office.

The yacht can accommodate a crew of 19 and roughly 12 passengers. The eight lavish cabins, which are almost as opulent as the master suites, are available for guests to stay in. All of the bathrooms include granite finishes and rainfall showers. To provide visitors with the most memorable experience possible, there are spa rooms equipped with an indoor jacuzzi and sauna. A VIP suite and twin rooms are lavishly provided for on the yacht.

michael jordan yacht inside

And, of course, it has a gym and an indoor basketball court.

To adapt to shifting weather conditions, the ship is built with an aluminum superstructure and glass aluminum insulation.

Among the trips Jordon has taken on the yacht was with some of his closest friends to the Caribbean island of Saint Barthélemy.

Inside ‘Mr. Terrible’

Although it is four times smaller than Joy, Mr. Terrible is also one of the most luxurious ships now cruising the seas, and by most measures, its overall length of 154 feet is sufficient to deem it a super yacht.

michael jordan yacht inside

Mega yachts are essentially private yachts that are 24 meters or larger in length and are so big that a professional crew is necessary to manage them.

Mr. Terrible has an indoor bar, and additionally, there is a space for dining outside as well as a dining area within with a real chandelier. On top of that, Mr. Terrible has a design that was influenced by both Art Deco and tropical themes, as evidenced by the use of tropical wood in its walls and on a staircase made of Bubinga, a tropical African hardwood.

It is unclear when Jordan purchased Mr. Terrible.

Inside Catch-23

Jordan also owns a fishing yacht called Catch-23; his Chicago Bulls playing number was 23. The yacht cost $8 million .

Viking Yachts produced the Catch 23 luxury motor boat in 2018.

The sport boat has a top speed of 40 knots and a range of more than 500 nautical miles. This magnificent yacht is outfitted with cutting-edge technology and facilities to provide a pleasant and entertaining experience for everybody aboard. The 80-foot yacht’s interior is built for luxury and comfort, with high-end finishes, comfy furniture, and cutting-edge entertainment systems. The boat can easily accommodate up to eight people and a crew of two. In 2020, Catch 23 was used to compete in the Big Rock Fishing Tournament, where Jordan traveled to Morehead City, North Carolina. Jordan competed in the nonprofit event to raise money for local charities.

It is rumored that Jordan also owns a yacht called M’Brace, which is worth $115 million. According to Majorca Daily Bulletin, the yacht was sold in December 2022, allegedly to the basketball legend. The yacht can accommodate 12 guests and a crew of 24.

Michael Jordan’s Yacht: Catch 23

Michael Jordan’s Yacht: Catch 23

In 2019, Michael Jordan purchased Catch 23 , an 80-foot Viking sportfish luxury fishing boat featuring some amazing details. Marine Diesel Specialists are in awe over this beauty, so we endeavored to find out some of the most interesting facts about Michael Jordan’s yacht and all it has to offer. Marine Diesel Specialists are the best in the industry offering OEM parts and MAN engine overhauls. Here are ten interesting facts about Catch 23, from its powerful MTU engines to its matching elephant print design with Jordan’s private jet:

1. The Catch 23 yacht is powered by MTU engines.

Our Fort Lauderdale marine diesel mechanics are in shock at the speeds that Micheal Jordan’s fishing boat can reach. Catch 23 has a max speed of about 40 knots with a range of more than 500 nm. Depending on the load as well as other environmental factors, the Catch 23 fishing boat can effortlessly cruise at 30 knots.

2. The Catch 23 yacht was built and designed by Viking Yachts in 2018.

Viking Yachts is a premier yacht manufacturer in Riviera Beach, FL. They specialize in convertible yachts as well as open and motor yachts. Jordan’s fishing boat is a convertible Viking 80EB sport fisher motor yacht. Viking Yachts designed both the interior, exterior, and engineering behind this impressive fishing boat.

3. Michael Jordan uses Catch 23 for fishing tournaments.

Michael Jordan is definitely not a newbie when it comes to fishing. He frequently uses the Catch 23 fishing boat in a variety of tournaments. In June of 2020, Jordan participated in the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament and reeled in a 442.3-pound marlin.

4. Michael Jordan’s Viking Yacht can accommodate 10 people.

Catch 23 can comfortably seat 8-10 guests and a 2-person crew. 1

5. Catch 23 is worth $8 million.

That’s right, Michael Jordan’s yacht is worth $8 million, which is pocket change for someone with a $1.6 billion net worth according to Forbes. 2 He is famously considered the richest former professional athlete in the world. After winning 6 titles with the Chicago Bulls, he deserves this boat.

6. Catch 23 was named after Jordan himself.

For fishing and boat enthusiasts, naming your yacht is serious business. Jordan used a clever pun to name his vessel, playing off the common phrase “catch-22,” tying it into his off-the-court fishing hobby with “catch,” and incorporating his jersey number, 23.

7. Michael Jordan’s fishing yacht matches his plane.

It wouldn’t be a luxury fishing boat if there wasn’t a matching plane to complete the set. Both feature the famous elephant print from the Air Jordan 3 sneakers, released in 1988, as well as Jordan’s signature panther on the stern to match his private jet.

8. The boat is docked in Jupiter, Florida.

You can find Jordan’s 80-foot fishing boat docked in Jupiter, Florida most of the time. Catch 23 can often be spotted around North Carolina where Michael Jordan enjoys participating in non-profit fishing tournaments and other national fishing competitions.

9. Catch 23 includes several rooms and amenities.

Michael Jordan’s Catch 23 yacht has a virtual conference area, 2 dining spaces, and a J lounge where Jordan and his guests can hang out between catches. The sleeping quarters include the main suite with a king-sized bed, 2 staterooms with queen-sized beds, and 2 additional staterooms with bunk-style beds, or berths. Each of the 5 staterooms also has its own shower stalls and there’s even a washer and dryer in the companionway.

Additionally, the Catch 23 yacht also features a centralized seawater system, dual freshwater pumps, Veem S-class propellers as well as a manual backup. 3

10. Catch 23 isn’t Jordan’s only boat.

The famous basketball player also owns another boat that is worth roughly $80 million. The 230-ft mega yacht includes a full-sized basketball court as well as 8 cabins, a full gym, and a jacuzzi.

Michael Jordan's New $15 Million Yacht Is Turning Heads

M ichael Jordan is widely considered the best basketball player of all time. In his long career with the Chicago Bulls, Jordan won six NBA championships, including two three-peats in the 1990s. He also won a NCAA championship with the North Carolina Tarheels.

Jordan retired from basketball a few different times but officially called it quits in 2003. He went on to become a part-owner of the Charlotte Hornets, previously the Bobcats, in 2006 and recently sold his majority stake in the team last year.

Nowadays, Jordan is living a luxurious life away from the game. He recently bought a new Bayliss Yacht. This fishing boat is 80 feet long and costs around $15 million. Jordan wrapped the sides of his new boat with elephant print, so it stands out from others. He named the yacht "Catch 23."

A video showing off Jordan's new boat was posted online by Huddle Up sports and business writer Joe Pompliano .

Fans were amazed by Jordan's new purchase and posted their reactions on social media.

"Bayliss almost as big a legend as MJ in eastern NC"

"How to spend it"

"Another reason why MJ is the real (GOAT)"

"MJ living my best life"

Jordan will be in North Carolina competing in a fishing tournament. The prize will be $7.5 million, or half the cost of his new toy.

Justin Timberlake Arrested On DWI Charge In The Hamptons

‘real housewives’ star lisa barlow sued for over $400,000 as tequila brand flops, young sheldon's big bank theory: how much young sheldon cast was paid per episode, quick links, an extraordinary design and built, a horde of classy conveniences, a plethora of options for entertainment.

NCB champion Michael Jordan has become famous and prosperous during his basketball career. He owns multiple luxury estates, cars, and superyachts. His $80 million yacht is of particular importance in this list. MJ is listed as one of the wealthiest people in the USA and worldwide. Thus, it comes as no surprise that he might own an $80 million luxury yacht. This is not the only yacht he holds. He has a smaller yacht called Mr. Terrible, which costs about $21 million. This yacht is also pretty impressive , with numerous extravagant conveniences. However, it is nowhere close to the luxury amenities and enormous space that the $80 million boat offers.

The following offers a peek inside Michael Jordan’s $80 million yachts.

The $80million superyacht that is often associated with the famous basketball player Michael Jordan is called Joy. This vessel is 230 feet or 70 meters in length, and the outline is about 9.78 feet or 3 meters long. The maximum speed that Joy can reach is about 16 knots, and the cruising rate is about 12 knots.

RELATED:  Inside The Migaloo: A $2.3 Billion Submarine Yacht

The exterior design of the Joy was developed by Bannenberg & Rowell Design . It has a hull made of steel and a superstructure that is built of aluminum . The decks are made of teak wood, and Studio Indigo has done the extravagant interior designing.

The Joy superyacht is a newly made vessel launched in 2016. It comes in a total of 5 decks, each assigned for different activities and purposes. One of the main attractions of this luxury vessel is the owner’s pavilion. It comes with a beautiful master suite and bedrooms with oceanic mosaics as the skylight. There is also an owner’s office space with an extraordinary view.

The entire pavilion offers a 270 degrees view of the ocean and has a classy owner’s lounge for having a frivolous but private moment. The whole ship has been provided with glass insulation to have a comfortable stay during extreme heat or cold.

That is not all; Michael Jordan is known for being hospitable. His yacht has provision for about 12 guests and a crew of nineteen. Friends can come over and stay in the seven luxurious cabins, which are almost as exquisite as the master bedrooms. The bathrooms are all of the granite finish and with rainfall showers . There are spa rooms with a jacuzzi and sauna to offer the guests the best experience of their lives. The yacht makes space generously for a VIP stateroom and twin cabins.

The colossal space allows its passengers a variety of lifestyles. For example, guests can choose sports, domesticity, beach life, or nightlife depending on their mood. The best part of this yacht and why MJ selected this one is the basketball court that it makes space for on the fourth deck. It goes beyond saying that Michael Jordan must be in a mood to play basketball on board even while cruising.

Playing a favorite sport while in the middle of an ocean makes it an exclusive experience. The fourth deck has been built so that it can be converted into any kind of game stack. Sports like football and badminton can also be a source of entertainment when you are onboard.

The main lounge is perhaps the most happening place on this superyacht , especially when the sun goes down. It comes with fancy bars and the most exquisite furniture collection to raise this ship’s status quo. There is a jacuzzi on the aft deck for a more private bath session or relaxation time. The yacht comes with an elevator that will take you to the topmost level, arranged to be a beach club with nightlife entertainment options.

Joy is a unique experience with its wide range of watersports options. It has tender boats, about five paddle bots, four seaboards, water skis, kayaks, and wakeboards. It also stations inflatables and trampolines for extra amusement, and there are fishing scuba equipment and gear for a mind-blowing underwater experience.

Besides, there is ample speculation upon whether Michael Jordan owns this superyacht. But since this yacht has been unavailable for chartering for almost a year, MJ has probably bought it or leased it. Chartering this super vessel comes at a handsome price of $840000 per week . This would be easily affordable to the basketball champion and celebrity Michael Jordan, who has an impressive net worth of approximately $2 billion.

LIFE is a breeze for Michael Jordan, who travels by air and sea.

The Chicago Bulls legend , 58, has been known to enjoy the services of the amazing super yacht Joy, worth a staggering £60million.

The luxurious £60m super yacht Joy used by Michael Jordan

He was seen with the luxurious vessel in 2019, and is already the owner of a £6million fishing boat Catch 23.

Jordan sailed to the Caribbean island of St Barts with pals to enjoy all Joy's pleasure.

On board, it has amenities, including a deck jacuzzi, gym, and a stunning dining room.

Better still, Joy also boasts a basketball court which Jordan surely showed guests he's still got it.

Jordan became the first billionaire athlete in 2015, and reportedly earns around £120million-per-year from Nike in endorsements.

Measuring 230 feet long, Joy boasts eight cabins fit for a king with each accessible by a lift.

Each has been decorated with ocean mosaics, like skylights and bathrooms with granite finishes. And they are equipped with their own rain showers.

It offers a 270 degree ocean view, and is glass insulated to keep out the cold overnight and on chilly days.

Up to 12 guests and a crew of 19 can be on board at one time.

But, aside from the lavish bedrooms, there's plenty of on offer to do onboard Joy.

There is a full bar and dining room, ideal for a top chef or mixologist to work in.

And there is a jacuzzi, which can be found on deck and enjoyed as you overlook the St Thomas and Caribbean islands' coasts.

Despite retiring from the NBA in 2003, Jordan still likes to keep himself fit, in lieu of the odd cigar.

That's why a state-of-the-art gym to workout in is a must, which can be found on Joy.

However, the most incredible thing we've ever seen on the boat is its basketball court.

Everything You Want to Know about Michael Jordan's Yacht

For a lot of people out there, Michael Jordan was the biggest sports star of the 1990s. This is because he led the Chicago Bulls to 3 championship wins from 1991 to 1993, retired from the NBA to play some minor league baseball, and then led the Chicago Bulls to another 3 championships from 1996 to 1998. Summed up, it is no wonder that a lot of people see him as the greatest basketball player of all time, which is something that comes with a huge amount of respect, as shown by nicknames such as Air Jordan.

With that said, it is interesting to note that Jordan seems to have a fair amount of business skill as well. Certainly, he came out of the NBA as a millionaire , seeing as how he made a total of $90 million over the course of his NBA career. However, that served as a springboard and nothing more than that, as shown by what Jordan has managed to make based on the reputation that he built up. For example, Jordan was famous enough that he wound up playing the lead character in the 1996 movie called Space Jam , which might have met with a mixed response from the critics but was nonetheless such a huge success that it became the single most successful basketball movie ever. Furthermore, it is important to note that Jordan still makes tens of millions on Nike royalties on an annual basis because his shoes are still selling to a huge number of fans out there. Finally, Jordan actually became a billionaire in relatively recent times because he purchased the Charlotte Bobcats for $175 million, which is relevant because said franchise has seen a huge upswing to value to something along the lines of $750 million.

As a result, it is safe to say that Jordan has a lot of money to spend in various lavish ways. For example, he has a private jet that has been painted Carolina blue. Furthermore, he has spent more than $12 million building a home in Florida, which was in addition to real estate properties elsewhere. Finally, Jordan owns a yacht called Mr. Terrible, which is well, the exact opposite of what its name sounds like.

What Is There to Know About Michael Jordan's Yacht?

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Mr. Terrible is one of the most luxurious yachts that can be found out there on the sea. In total, it measures 154 feet in length, which is enough by most ways of reckoning to make it count as a mega yacht. For those who are curious, mega yachts are essentially private yachts measuring 24 meters or more, which is big enough that they actually need a professional crew on-board. Something that more or less restricts them to a very small group of potential clients, which in turn, means that each example is very much one of a kind with nothing else that is exactly like it.

Of course, mega-yachts being mega-yachts, this means that there is more to it than just its length. For example, one of the reasons for its construction is its use on fishing trips, as shown by the facilities that can be found on-board. Moreover, it is interesting to note that Mr. Terrible actually comes with a fairly powerful underwater camera, meaning that Jordan and his guests can use it to gaze down at what is happening in the waters beneath them.

With that said, Mr. Terrible boasts other ways to support rest and relaxation as well. For example, there is a bar where people can sip their favorite beverages. Furthermore, there is an area for outdoor dining as well as an indoor dining room with an actual chandelier. On top of this, Mr. Terrible boasts a design that has drawn inspiration from Art Deco as well as tropical themes, as shown by the fact that it has incorporated tropical wood into its walls as well as a staircase that has incorporated bubinga, which is a particular kind of hardwood with a rich color that projects an almost palpable presence.

Summed up, Jordan's Mr. Terrible is a remarkable demonstration of the yacht-builder's art because he can afford to pay for the best. Something that stands as a visible reminder of how Jordan has managed to turn his basketball reputation into a net worth that makes him the third wealthiest black person from the United States.

Already a basketball legend, minor league baseball player, high-stakes golfer, NASCAR team co-owner and poker enthusiast, Michael Jordan scratches his competitive itch these days with deep sea fishing.

And because this is Jordan, his 'hobby' comes in the form of a $7.5 million tournament off the North Carolina coast, where the six-time NBA champion is rumored to aboard a new yacht worth an estimated $15 million.

For comparison's sake, that's less than 1 percent of Jordan's reported $3.6 billion net worth.

Known as the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament , the competition began on Monday runs through Saturday, after which there will be an awards brunch on Sunday.

Jordan is not listed among the anglers in the tournament. However, he has previously participated in the event and a conspicuous vessel named 'Catch 23' is currently entered into the field. Podcaster and investor Joe Pompliano added fuel to the fire by reporting Jordan's entry into the field.

His Airness' new vessel is an 82-foot Boatworks ship, according to Pompliano. Captained by Stetson Turney, this yacht replaces the $8 million Viking-made ship he used at previous tournaments.

But as Pompliano points out, they both have a distinctive 'elephant' print wrapped around the boat.

Sportskeeda reports that Jordan competed at a popular billfish event in the Bahamas last year, where he and his teammates reeled in four blue marlins, five white marlins, and a sailfish.

Turney was named the best captain during the event.

Jordan has been known to fish with golfer Luke Donald.

In fact, Donald once shared a birthday message to Jordan on Instagram, showing the two out on a boat at sea and captioned the image: 'Happy Birthday to the G.O.A.T.

'The most competitive person I know in everything he does, he always finds a way to win. He's also one of the kindest and most sincere people I've been around.

Speaking on the-then European Tour's 'Life on Tour' podcast in 2018, Donald said fishing was starting to replace golf as Jordan's main hobby.

'I think he's getting a little bit bored of golf! So we go fishing a lot,' he said. 'I'd give him 10 shots though when he play.

'He knows how to play, he knows how to score. Very good short game, he can get up and down from nowhere.'
