Ever the unconventional challenger brand, at CUPRA we continue to move forward with our goal to create a universe of experience around the thrill, excitement and power of driving. After announcing this latest partnership with Barcelona-based shipyard De Antonio Yachts at our digital CUPRA Anniversary event last February, we are now ready to present our first collaboration to the world.

The D28 Formentor is a high-performance yacht that takes inspiration from our first uniquely developed model, the CUPRA Formentor. We’re excited to reveal the D28 Formentor in all its glory at a unique exhibition in Barcelona’s Marina Vela Port, where it will be shown alongside a Special Edition of the car: with a 390PS output, the CUPRA Formentor VZ5 will have a limited run of 7,000 units.

CUPRA President Wayne Griffiths said: “Our vision of inspiring the world from Barcelona knows no frontiers, and now we’re taking our contemporary design to the sea. With this collaboration, we want to demonstrate CUPRA’s ambition to combine high performance with the kind of unique style and design that generates lasting emotion. The D28 Formentor by De Antonio Yachts is just the beginning because we’ll work together again on the creation of a hybrid-powered yacht that we aim to launch in 2022.”

The perfect combination of performance and design

Scheduled to go on sale at the end of 2021, the D28 Formentor is 7.99 metres in length and can be extended by adding a half-metre stern platform. Its exterior has a distinctive Petrol Blue hull with several inflexions in black and carbon fibre, plus other notable elements that add further elegance and sportiness to its wheelhouse.

Its V-shaped hull design enables the 400PS showboat to reach up to 40 knots, as well as smooth sailing at cruising speed. With a generous beam and superb weight distribution, it provides a spacious deck with added stability when anchoring. The D28 Formentor has stand-out exterior features, simple lines and dynamic design, with added elegance and sportiness expressed through a Petrol Blue and copper-tone trim finish. Also, thanks to a layout that follows the “walk-around” concept, passengers are able to move comfortably around its perimeter. The high degree of space utilisation offers an incomparable feeling, with a maximum capacity of up to ten people.

En CUPRA seguimos avanzando con el objetivo de crear todo un universo de experiencias que giren entorno a la emoción y el poder de la conducción. Tras anunciar la asociación con el astillero barcelonés, De Antonio Yachts, en nuestro evento digital CUPRA Anniversary que se celebró el pasado febrero, ahora estamos listos para presentarle al mundo nuestra primera colaboración.

Se trata del D28 Formentor, un yate de alto rendimiento que está inspirado en la creación de nuestro CUPRA Formentor. Este primer modelo de yate se exhibirá en una exposición exclusiva en el puerto de Marina Vela de Barcelona, donde se mostrará junto al modelo CUPRA Formentor VZ5, una edición especial limitada de alto rendimiento con 390 CV y un motor de cinco cilindros, y del que solo se producirán 7.000 unidades.

En palabras del propio Wayne Griffith, presidente de CUPRA, “nuestra forma de inspirar al mundo desde Barcelona no conoce fronteras, y ahora estamos llevando nuestro diseño contemporáneo hasta el mar. Con esta colaboración, demostramos la ambición de CUPRA por combinar un alto rendimiento con el estilo y diseño exclusivo, y que además sean capaces de generar emociones. El D28 Formentor es solo el comienzo, seguimos trabajando junto a De Antonio Yatchs en la creación de un yate de propulsión híbrida que tenemos previsto lanzar en 2022" .

La combinación perfecta entre rendimiento y diseño

El De Antonio Yachts D28 Formentor tiene 7,99 metros de eslora, con posibilidad de añadir una plataforma de popa de medio metro. El diseño exterior se distingue por el color del casco Petrol Blue, numerosos detalles en negro y fibra de carbono junto a elementos distintivos que añaden elegancia y deportividad a la cabina de mando.

Su diseño de casco en forma de V permite alcanzar una velocidad máxima de hasta 40 nudos con la máxima motorización, así como una cómoda navegación a velocidad de crucero. Su generosa distribución de manga y peso, proporciona una amplia habitabilidad en cubierta, aportando estabilidad al fondear. El D28 presenta un llamativo diseño con líneas simples y dinámicas, combinando elegancia y deportividad, con un acabado de realces en azul petróleo y tono cobre. Además, gracias a un diseño que sigue el concepto de "paseo", los pasajeros pueden moverse cómodamente por la cubierta. El buen uso del espacio ofrece una agradable sensación, con una capacidad máxima de hasta diez personas.

Two Barcelona companies with broad international projection and a differentiating product join forces to launch the D28 De Antonio CUPRA, a unique piece that was born from the renowned De Antonio Yachts D28 Open in collaboration with the car brand. The 28-foot boat features exceptional performance and maximum comfort over eight meters in length. Its design is the result of a commitment to innovation in the nautical sector and its fine and avant-garde lines characterize this model that exudes contemporaneity.

The D28 has the entire deck at the same level offering different areas of solarium with seats and tables both in the bow and aft. The high level of use of space provides a feeling of incomparable spaciousness. Even with a maximum capacity of up to ten people, the D28 is the ideal day boat. De Antonio Yachts D28 Formentor Is a Cupra for the Water

Unconventional automotive challenger brand Cupra is expanding on its partnership with De Antonio Yachts, presenting its first collaboration to the world.

The two brands have worked together on the design of the D28 Formentor, a high-performance yacht inspired by the first Cupra-designed road car, the similarly named Formentor.

This showboat is a design exercise that will lay the groundwork for the launch of a limited edition of the D28 in Cupra colours and finishes that will go on sale at the end of 2021.

De Antonio Yachts D28 Formentor: Power and Luxury

The De Antonio Yachts D28 Formentor is 7.99 metres long, without the optional half-metre stern platform. The exterior design has a distinctive Petrol Blue V-shaped hull, several accents in black and carbon fibre, and a number of distinguishing copper tone elements, adding elegance and sportiness to the wheelhouse.

Powered by a 400hp engine, the D28 Formentor is capable of reaching a top speed of 40 knots, or 46mph, as well as smooth sailing at cruising speed.

A generous beam and weight distribution provide for a spacious deck and stability when anchoring, with the layout enabling users to comfortably move around the perimeter following the “walk-around” concept.

The entire deck is on the same level, divided into different sundeck areas with seating and tables both fore and aft, and includes a fully equipped bathroom. The utilisation of space offers a feeling of openness, with a capacity of up to ten people.

The De Antonio Yachts D28 Formentor is currently exhibited at Marina Vela in the port of Barcelona together with the Cupra Formentor VZ5, a special limited edition version of the high-performance crossover SUV equipped with a 390hp five-cylinder engine, of which only 7,000 units will be produced.

Ever the unconventional challenger brand, at CUPRA we continue to move forward with our goal to create a universe of experience around the thrill, excitement and power of driving. After announcing this partnership with Barcelona-based shipyard De Antonio Yachts at our digital CUPRA Anniversary event last February, we presented our first collaboration to the world.

The D28 Formentor is a high-performance yacht that takes inspiration from our first uniquely developed model, the CUPRA Formentor. We were excited to reveal the D28 Formentor in all its glory at a unique exhibition in Barcelona’s Marina Vela Port, where it was shown alongside a Special Edition of the car: with a 390PS output, the CUPRA Formentor VZ5 will have a limited run of 7,000 units.

CUPRA President Wayne Griffiths said: “Our vision of inspiring the world from Barcelona knows no frontiers, and now we’re taking our contemporary design to the sea. With this collaboration, we want to demonstrate CUPRA’s ambition to combine high performance with the kind of unique style and design that generates lasting emotion. The D28 Formentor by De Antonio Yachts is just the beginning because we’ll work together again on the creation of a hybrid-powered yacht that we aim to launch in 2022.”

The perfect combination of performance and design

Scheduled to go on sale at the end of 2021, the D28 Formentor is 7.99 metres in length and can be extended by adding a half-metre stern platform. Its exterior has a distinctive Petrol Blue hull with several inflexions in black and carbon fibre, plus other notable elements that add further elegance and sportiness to its wheelhouse.

Its V-shaped hull design enables the 400PS showboat to reach up to 40 knots, as well as smooth sailing at cruising speed. With a generous beam and superb weight distribution, it provides a spacious deck with added stability when anchoring. The D28 Formentor has stand-out exterior features, simple lines and dynamic design, with added elegance and sportiness expressed through a Petrol Blue and copper-tone trim finish. Also, thanks to a layout that follows the “walk-around” concept, passengers are able to move comfortably around its perimeter. The high degree of space utilisation offers an incomparable feeling, with a maximum capacity of up to ten people.

Marc de Antonio, the co-founder of De Antonio Yachts, pointed out that  “De Antonio Yachts was born out of a passion for the sea and an interest in innovating and building sporty yachts with contemporary design. The CUPRA lifestyle universe

At CUPRA, we collaborate with brands that speak our design language and share our way of crafting experiences. So far, in our commitment towards creating exclusive and limited product collections that represent the CUPRA lifestyle, we have also collaborated with lighting company Marset to produce Chispa by Marset for CUPRA , a portable, rechargeable, cordless designer lamp, which is now available.

We also launched an exclusive sneaker collection with international fashion brand Mikakus. The Mikakus x CUPRA capsule is also inspired by the design of the CUPRA Formentor. In addition, we have developed exclusive collections of bags, accessories and sunglasses with the TRAKATAN and L.G.R. fashion brands.

Ob nun ein Speedboat von AMG , eine Yacht von Lexus oder eine Solar-Yacht mit einem E-Motor aus dem Hause VW – die Vielfalt ist in diesem Segment recht groß. Bei letzterer Yacht hatte zudem Cupra in puncto Design seine Pinsel im Spiel. Und wer einmal seine Fühler in den maritimen Bereich ausstreckte, der wird oft zum Wiederholungstäter.

So geschehen bei der neuesten automotiven Yacht namens De Antonio Yachts D28 Formentor. Das Design der Yacht ist inspiriert von den Elementen und Farben des Cupra Formentor , dem ersten eigenständigen Modell der sportlichen Seat-Tochter.

74 km/h schnell und fast acht Meter lang

Dieses Showboot ist der Vorläufer für die Einführung einer limitierten Sonderedition der D28, die Ende 2021 in den Handel kommen soll. Die De Antonio Yachts D28 Formentor ist 7,99 Meter lang und hat eine maximale Leistung von 400 PS. Seine Höchstgeschwindigkeit soll 40 Knoten betragen, was umgerechnet 74 Kilometer pro Stunde entspricht.

Das gesamte Deck dieses Modells befindet sich auf derselben Ebene und ist in verschiedene Sonnendeckbereiche mit Sitzgelegenheiten und Tischen vorne und hinten unterteilt. Es verfügt über ein voll ausgestattetes Badezimmer und bietet eine maximale Kapazität für bis zu zehn Personen. Begeistert von dem schwimmenden Formentor verrät Cupra-Präsiden Wayne Griffiths, dass er bereits an einer e-Hybrid-Yacht forschen lässt.

CUPRA x De Antonio Yachts

CUPRA continue de progresser dans son objectif de créer un univers d'expériences autour de la marque. Après avoir annoncé leur partenariat lors de l'événement numérique  CUPRA Anniversary  en février dernier, la marque challenger qui défie les conventions, et De Antonio Yachts dévoilent leur première collaboration au monde entier.

Les deux marques ont travaillé ensemble sur le design du De Antonio Yachts D28 Formentor, un yacht haute performance inspiré de la CUPRA Formentor, le tout premier modèle conçu et développé exclusivement pour le constructeur automobile. Ce showboat est un exercice de style sans pareil en matière de design, en amont du lancement d'une édition spéciale limitée du D28 aux couleurs et finitions caractéristiques de CUPRA. Celle-ci sera commercialisée fin 2021.

Après avoir profité d'une croisière que quelques miles à bord du De Antonio Yachts D28 Formentor, le président de CUPRA Wayne Griffiths, a déclaré :  « CUPRA est bien plus qu'une marque de voiture, c'est un style de vie. Il s'agit de vivre des expériences uniques, de défier le statu quo et de ressentir pleinement des émotions. Notre coopération avec De Antonio Yachts en est une preuve supplémentaire, car nous partageons les mêmes valeurs et la même ambition : être source d'inspiration pour le reste du monde depuis Barcelone. Inspiré de notre CUPRA Formentor VZ5, le D28 Formentor de De Antonio Yachts est le premier d'une longue série de projets. La combinaison parfaite de la performance et du design

Le De Antonio Yachts D28 Formentor mesure 7,99 mètres de long, et peut accueillir une plate-forme d'un demi-mètre à la poupe. Le design extérieur se caractérise par une coque Bleu Pétrole, de nombreux accents couleur noir et en fibre de carbone, ainsi que des éléments distinctifs qui ajoutent élégance et sportivité à la timonerie.

Dotée d'un design en V, la coque permet d'atteindre une vitesse de pointe de 40 nœuds à la puissance maximale, tout en offrant une navigation agréable à vitesse de croisière. Sa largeur et la répartition du poids offrent une grande habitabilité sur le pont, et assurent une stabilité élevée au mouillage. La disposition des volumes permet une circulation périphérique confortable suivant le concept de "walk-around". Ce dernier organise le pont de plain-pied, en le divisant en différentes zones, avec des sièges et des tables à la proue et à la poupe. Il intègre également une salle de bain entièrement équipée. L'optimisation élevée de l'espace disponible confère une sensation incomparable, avec une capacité d'accueil maximale de dix personnes.

L'univers lifestyle de CUPRA

CUPRA souhaite collaborer avec des marques qui parlent le même langage en matière de design, et qui partagent sa façon de créer des expériences. Dans son engagement à créer des collections exclusives et limitées qui représentent le style de la marque, CUPRA a également collaboré avec la société Marset spécialisée dans les solutions d'éclairage, afin de créer  Chispa by Marset for CUPRA , une lampe design portable, rechargeable et sans fil, qui est désormais commercialisée.

THE CUPRA D28 Formentor e-HYBRID

Taking hybrid performance to the sea.

Our collaboration with De Antonio Yachts is being extended with the unveiling of the D28 Formentor e-HYBRID, our first electric hybrid yacht, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and performance.

The initial collaboration in 2020 between CUPRA and the Barcelona-based, high-performance designer yacht firm delivered a 400PS showboat capable of reaching a top speed of 40 knots. The boat’s exterior design stood out with straight lines, dynamic character, and unconventional colours. The exterior design had a distinctive Petrol Blue hull, several accents in black and carbon fibre along with a number of distinguishing elements.

“ We love bringing our performance to other territories. De Antonio is the perfect partner for being the unconventional challenger in a completely different environment on the sea. Now, we are taking that extra step with a hybrid version of the D28 Formentor which will be officially presented to the public at the beginning of 2023, ” said Antonino Labate, Global Director of Strategy, Business Development & Operations at CUPRA.”

We worked together on the design of the De Antonio Yachts D28 Formentor , a high-performance yacht inspired by the first model uniquely designed and developed for the brand, the CUPRA Formentor. And now the collaboration adds electrification to the mix.

In addition to the 400PS engine, two retractable 15kW electric motors are integrated into the powertrain, to create a hybrid system, allowing the yacht to ride either in combustion mode or fully electric mode. While riding in 100% electric mode, the D28 Formentor can navigate with zero-emissions in places like restricted harbours and lakes, meaning zero water pollution and very low acoustic emissions.

The D28 Formentor electric hybrid yacht also benefits from a brand-new paint option: Graphene Grey – the same shade from the original CUPRA palette of colours - combined with a synthetic teak deck and grey upholstery.

CUPRA continues to advance beyond automotive inspired by its partnership with the Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup and launches two key collaborations showcasing the spirit of the competition. The unconventional challenger brand broadens its collaboration with De Antonio Yachts with the launch of the E23 Terramar, a 100% electric boat inspired by the new CUPRA Terramar. CUPRA has also unveiled its new Collection capsule in collaboration with the America’s Cup, a new line of apparel and accessories influenced by the world’s biggest sailing race.

E23 Terramar: Design meets performance

CUPRA and the Spanish brand De Antonio Yachts have joined forces once again to conceive the E23 Terramar. Through its CUPRA Design House, the challenger brand has created a special edition of De Antonio Yachts’ first 100% electric boat, inspired by the new CUPRA Terramar, the brand’s electrified sporty SUV and the Official Car of the 37 th America’s Cup that also pays homage to the birthplace of CUPRA.

“CUPRA and De Antonio Yachts are a perfect match, as we are both committed to offering the highest levels of technological development and performance. As brands born in Barcelona, we are proud to collaborate with the Louis Vuitton 37 th America’s Cup to make this the most sustainable edition of the competition,” said Marc de Antonio and Stan Chmielewski, co-founders and CEOs of De Antonio Yachts. “The E23 Terramar not only embodies our shared passion for contemporary design, but also offers a powerful and thrilling sailing experience with its great manoeuvrability, comfort and speed,” they added.

The E23 Terramar embraces CUPRA’s DNA with exclusive customisation details and a stimulating design that brings together sportiness and sophistication. The yacht’s colour palette, Pale Chrome Oxide, and materials resemble those of the CUPRA Terramar, a bold vision of the future of SUVs created to keep challenging the status quo. Like CUPRA, De Antonio Yachts seeks to offer an exciting and disruptive sailing experience, provoking unforgettable emotions by enhancing the contact between the driver, the boat and the sea.  The E23 model is the official electric boat of the Louis Vuitton 37 th America’s Cup and will be used to transport guests during the event.

The yacht is 7.20 metres long and 2.23 metres wide, with a capacity of up to 8 people when including the boat skipper. The integrated foils between the hulls of the E23 Terramar provide an additional lift by reducing friction when moving forward, extending its range and enabling a top speed of up to 30 knots at maximum power. The unique exterior design stands out with its special paint finishes, based on Enceladus Grey Matte, its technological copper details and CUPRA’s iconic graphics and elements. The customised interior details include a distinctive upholstery, characteristic lighting and unique finishes.

CUPRA Collection capsule: Where sport, speed and design converge

CUPRA has also unveiled its new Collection capsule in collaboration with the America’s Cup, born from the Mediterranean spirit of the brand and its connection with the sea. This new line of apparel embodies the values shared by CUPRA and the America’s Cup and reinforces the brand's ambition to go beyond automotive with its Design Obsession.

"The Louis Vuitton 37 th America's Cup is a competition for winners, with no second place, which shares our competitive spirit. Our partnership now reaches a new stage with the presentation of the CUPRA Collection capsule, exclusively created by the new CUPRA Design House, influenced by the pinnacle of cutting-edge design represented by the shapes, colours and textures of the America’s Cup trophy, the Auld Mug,” said Miguel Diez, Head of Commercial at CUPRA Design House. 

Shaped by the dynamic spirit of competitive sailing and the values of Barcelona's Mediterranean lifestyle, the CUPRA Collection capsule reflects on the motto “There is no second” to represent the challenger character of the brand. Seamlessly blending these influences with unique pieces, the CUPRA Design House drew inspiration from the sea and the character of the America’s Cup Race to create a perfect balance between high performance and style. Technical and waterproof fabrics are combined with sustainable materials like lyocell, presented in a colour palette based in the “Enceladus Grey” shade, prominently featured in the new CUPRA Terramar.

The Collection capsule will be available for purchase at selected CUPRA City Garages and CUPRA Garages and at the CUPRA Fan Zones during the America’s Cup event, due to take place between August and October 2024, and includes the following items: Sporty raincoat, T-Shirt, Polo, Bermuda, Water-repellent bag, Water bottle and Bucket hat.

La marca de Seat se adentra en la náutica con De Antonio Yachts.

De Antonio Yachts pondrá a la venta a finales de año una serie especial limitada de su D28 con los colores y la firma de Cupra Formentor.

CUPRA sigue adelante en su objetivo de crear un universo de experiencias alrededor del coche. Tras anunciar su asociación en el evento digital del CUPRA Anniversary del pasado mes de febrero, la marca que desafía lo convencional y De Antonio Yachts presentan al mundo su primera colaboración. Ambas marcas han trabajado conjuntamente en el diseño del De Antonio Yachts D28 Formentor, un yate de alto rendimiento inspirado en el primer modelo diseñado y desarrollado específicamente para la firma automovilística, el CUPRA Formentor. Este showboat es un ejercicio de diseño único que sienta las bases para el lanzamiento de una edición especial limitada del D28 con los colores y acabados icónicos de CUPRA que saldrá a la venta a finales de 2021.

El resultado de la primera colaboración entre CUPRA y el astillero barcelonés es un showboat de 400 CV de potencia, capaz de alcanzar una velocidad máxima de 40 nudos. El diseño exterior se distingue por sus líneas sencillas y su carácter dinámico, el color Petrol Blue y los acabados en color cobre, que aportan elegancia y deportividad.

La combinación perfecta entre rendimiento y diseño

El De Antonio Yachts D28 Formentor tiene 7,99 metros de eslora, con posibilidad de añadir una plataforma de popa de medio metro. El diseño exterior se distingue por el color del casco Petrol Blue, numerosos detalles en negro y fibra de carbono junto a elementos distintivos que añaden elegancia y deportividad a la timonera.

El diseño de su casco en forma de V permite alcanzar una velocidad máxima de hasta 40 nudos con la máxima motorización, así como una cómoda navegación a velocidad de crucero. Su generosa distribución de manga y peso proporciona una amplia habitabilidad en cubierta, aportando estabilidad al fondear. La disposición de los volúmenes permite una cómoda circulación periférica siguiendo el concepto walk-around. Este modelo tiene toda la cubierta a un mismo nivel dividida en diferentes áreas de solárium con asientos y mesas tanto en proa como en popa, además de incluir un baño completamente equipado. El alto nivel de uso del espacio ofrece una sensación incomparable, con una capacidad máxima de hasta diez personas.

Tras disfrutar de las primeras millas a bordo del De Antonio Yachts D28 Formentor, el Presidente de CUPRA Wayne Griffiths afirmó: “ CUPRA es mucho más que una marca de coches, es un estilo de vida. CUPRA x De Antonio Yachts

Da sempre marchio anticonvenzionale e amante delle sfide, CUPRA continua a crescere con l’obiettivo di creare un universo di esperienze all’insegna del brivido, dell’emozione e della potenza di guida. Dopo l’annuncio di questa partnership con il costruttore navale di Barcellona De Antonio Yachts in occasione del nostro evento digitale CUPRA Anniversary, lo scorso febbraio, abbiamo presentato al mondo il risultato della nostra prima collaborazione.

Il D28 Formentor è uno yacht ad alte prestazioni che si ispira al nostro primo modello nativo, CUPRA Formentor. Per noi è stata una vera emozione presentare il D28 Formentor in tutto il suo splendore in occasione di una mostra a Marina Vela, nel porto di Barcellona, dove è stato presentato insieme ad una Special Edition della vettura: con una potenza di 390 CV, CUPRA Formentor VZ5 sarà disponibile in un numero limitato di 7.000 esemplari.

Il Presidente del Marchio CUPRA, Wayne Griffiths, ha dichiarato:  “La nostra visione di ispirare il mondo da Barcellona non conosce frontiere e ora portiamo il nostro design contemporaneo anche in mare. Con questa collaborazione intendiamo dimostrare l’ambizione di CUPRA di combinare prestazioni straordinarie con uno stile e un design esclusivi, in grado di generare emozioni destinate a durare nel tempo. Il De Antonio Yachts Formentor D28 è solo l’inizio, perché lavoreremo ancora insieme per creare uno yacht con motore ibrido che intendiamo lanciare nel 2022.”

La combinazione perfetta di performance e design

Con l’inizio delle vendite previsto alla fine del 2021, il De Antonio Yachts Formentor D28 è lungo 7,99 metri e può essere allungato di mezzo metro utilizzando una piattaforma di poppa. Il design esterno è caratterizzato da uno scafo accattivante in blu petrolio e numerosi accenti in nero e fibra di carbonio. Inoltre, elementi distintivi conferiscono alla timoneria ulteriore eleganza e sportività.

Lo scafo a forma di V consente allo showboat da 400 CV di raggiungere una velocità massima di 40 nodi e di planare dolcemente a velocità di crociera. La larghezza generosa e la distribuzione equilibrata del peso garantiscono una coperta spaziosa e una grande stabilità durante l’ancoraggio. Il D28 Formentor presenta caratteristiche degli esterni distintive, linee semplici e design dinamico, con un tocco di eleganza e sportività che trovano espressione nelle finiture blu petrolio e rame. Inoltre, grazie ad un layout progettato secondo il concept “walk-around”, i passeggeri possono camminare comodamente intorno alla sovrastruttura in coperta. L’uso perfetto dello spazio crea una sensazione incomparabile e consente di ospitare fino ad un massimo di dieci persone.

Marc de Antonio, il co-fondatore di De Antonio Yachts, ha ricordato che “De Antonio Yachts nasce dalla passione per il mare e dall’interesse per l’innovazione e la costruzione di yacht sportivi dal design contemporaneo. CUPRA condivide lo stesso spirito; entrambi siamo di Barcellona e crediamo nel potenziale di questa città come punto di riferimento per un design cosmopolita.”

Taking hybrid performance to the sea

Our collaboration with De Antonio Yachts is being extended with the unveiling of the D28 Formentor e-HYBRID, our first electric hybrid yacht, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and performance.

The initial collaboration in 2020 between CUPRA and the Barcelona-based, high-performance designer yacht firm delivered a 400PS showboat capable of reaching a top speed of 40 knots. The boat’s exterior design stood out with straight lines, dynamic character, and unconventional colours. The exterior design had a distinctive Petrol Blue hull, several accents in black and carbon fibre along with a number of distinguishing elements.

“ We love bringing our performance to other territories. De Antonio is the perfect partner for being the unconventional challenger in a completely different environment on the sea. Now, we are taking that extra step with a hybrid version of the D28 Formentor which will be officially presented to the public at the beginning of 2023, ” said Antonino Labate, Global Director of Strategy, Business Development & Operations at CUPRA.”

We worked together on the design of the De Antonio Yachts D28 Formentor, a high-performance yacht inspired by the first model uniquely designed and developed for the brand, the CUPRA Formentor. And now the collaboration adds electrification to the mix.

In addition to the 400PS engine, two retractable 15kW electric motors are integrated into the powertrain, to create a hybrid system, allowing the yacht to ride either in combustion mode or fully electric mode. While riding in 100% electric mode, the D28 Formentor can navigate with zero-emissions in places like restricted harbours and lakes, meaning zero water pollution and very low acoustic emissions.

The D28 Formentor electric hybrid yacht also benefits from a brand-new paint option: Graphene Grey – the same shade from the original CUPRA palette of colours - combined with a synthetic teak deck and grey upholstery.

Both CUPRA and De Antonio Yachts are challengers in their respective industries. With the development of the hybrid yacht, we reinforce our commitment to innovation and progress towards more environmentally friendly vehicles, on land and at sea.
