16 Feet 1955 Lyman Outboard

This classic lapstrake, clinker-built outboard has been in one family for over 20 years. The boat was restored by a well-known restorer on Wellesley Island in the Thousand Islands approximately 20 years ago. Last hull repair was performed in 2010 by another well known restorer in Alexandria Bay, NY. For the last twelve years it has been in heated storage over the winter. It is in the water and running as of August 2024. The engine has had one recent repair, for a split shift rod keeper in the gear case. The hull and topside would benefit from a repainting and sanding/revarnishing. The Lyman is a lot of fun to tool around in and it takes the waves well for a small boat.

22 Feet 1951 Chris Craft

According to it’s hull card, Chris-Craft built this boat in January of 1951. It was equipped with a ML 145hp motor. It was shipped to Bryant’s Marina in Seattle, Washington that year. The original owner was Henry Issacson, a local industrialist that owned the largest iron works in the Pacific Northwest at the time. It changed hands at least once in subsequent years as a friend of mine purchased it from someone other than the Issacson family in 1976. At some point during this prior period of ownership, the boat was repowered with a175hp MCL engine. My friend owned the boat until 2001 when I purchased it from him. The boat has been stored inside since that time. At the time I purchased the boat, the engine had been experiencing a loss of power. In the mid 2000’s I removed the engine for overhaul. A magnaflux of the block confirmed cracks that were non-repairable. The block was disposed of, but all the engine’s peripherals were retained if a new block were to be sourced. Alternatively, this boat would be a good candidate for V8 swap. The bottom is original and will likely need replacement, and the sides and deck will require stripping and refinishing. I am not aware of any rot in the boat but I have not conducted a comprehensive examination. The upholstery is in excellent condition. All the hardware is present. The only reason I am selling the boat is that I have another classic boat that I have decided to focus my time and resources on.

15 Feet 2022 Custom Built Launch

Built based on modified plans of a Harold H. "Dynamite" Payson design. Harold's original design was called the 'Cartopper' , an 11 foot open boat designed for either paddle or sail. I fell in love with the overall lines of the boat but wanted something larger - something that could be powered. I assembled the boat using the 'stitch-n-glue' technique outlined in Harold's plans. The side and bilge panels are of 3/8" ply with the bottom panel of 3/4" ply. The hull is fiber-glassed up to the gunwales and sealed with epoxy. The 'stitch-n-glue' technique makes for a very solid hull without the need for heavy internal framing. As a result, the boat is exceeding light despite the engine and running gear and can be easily towed by a small car or SUV.

21 Feet 1962 Lyman Utility

I've owned this boat for 8 years, purchased in Henderson Harbor, NY. Stripped and rebuilt over the years. I have documents and receipts from 2007 onward. Bimini Top, 2 Sets of Cushions.

17 Feet 1953 Alexandria Boat Works Outboard

From Alexandria Boat Works in in Minnesota, this magnificently crafted cedar strip planked boat is a truly beautiful example of a great quality regional boat builder. This particular boat is in fantastic condition with a nearly pristine hull. Pictures and video from May of 2024 show what a gem this boat is. The Evinrude outboard runs and sounds great. Alexandria Boat Works was a family business that made a variety of wood boats for 67 years until 1954 when they turned to fiberglass boats. The frames and strip planking on this boat are like no other. The plank seams are nearly undetectable on this smooth hull and it has been said ABW was one of the boat builders who claimed to have invented or at least perfected the convex-concave hull strips. The detail and craftsmanship in this boat is truly amazing.

14 Feet 1956 Yellow Jacket Capri Deluxe

This boat was my father's gift to himself after he graduated from Notre Dame. We used to take this boat to New Hampshire every year until we moved to CO in 1972. Since then it has only been in the water a handful of times and the last time was in 1988. 1956 Mahogany panel boat and 1956 Mastercraft trailer. This boat has always been garaged. It has not been in the water or towed since 1988. This boat will need a full refinish/restore before being sea worthy. Yellow Jacket boats were crafted in Dennison, TX. The motor is a 1956 Mercury 55 (40 hp). It has also not been started since 1988. You will need to flatbed this boat and trailer, The trailer has not had maintenance since 1988 and I would imagine the wheel bearings will need to be cleaned and repacked. The rubber on the tires is at least 35 years old. I have the original sale paperwork from when my father bought the boat new. 15 Feet 1959 Custom Pacific Surfrider

1959 Antique Boat with Fins and Brake Lights! - $8,990 (Portland) Classic Antique Wooden 1959 Pacific Surfrider with red fins like an old Sunbeam with functioning LED brake lights (they are always on). A true rare find, this boat receives “nice boat! & thumbs ups!” all day long (and usually a comment such as: “My Dad had a …..”). She was made in Salem Oregon in 1959 and spent her life in a garage in and on Detroit Lake. The bottom was just completely restored last year. She has a near new 2018 40 HP Suzuki motor (w/ auto trim from throttle) with very few (verifiable) hours on it. She was out of the water for nearly the last two years for restoration. I am verifiably the third owner as I have the sales receipts (framed) for the two sales. It comes with the original trailer, steering wheel and a new depth finder (and much more). The upholstery was just redone, a custom-made maroon canvas cover that covers the fins to a tee and keeps 100% of the water out when covered. and the bottom is painted red like a pair of Louboutin Shoes. She got a new plywood bottom using west system epoxy along with fiberglass. This is a no soak boat that doesn't leak a drop. Along with the new bottom, bottom paint, side paint and 4 additional coats of varnish on the bright work, she has a new outer keel, new outer stem, and most of the inner stem was also replaced. All the new wood has been coated in Smith's penetrating epoxy and then coated with a minimum of 3 coats of varnish over the top. The transom has been beefed up to carry the weight of the engine. 16' Feet 1940s - 1960s? Chestnut Canoe Company N.B.

Vintage cedar strip canoe! Own a piece of history! Beautiful, fully restored, 16-foot vintage canoe from the Chestnut Canoe Company, N.B. Likely the Prospector model with v-shaped transom stern. So smooth on the water. As you can see from the pictures, it’s in great shape. There is -- full-disclosure -- a damaged spot on the ribs near the bow, about the size of a lady's fist. It doesn’t affect the vessel's seaworthiness at all as it is near the rail and it isn’t big enough to affect the sturdiness of the structure.

16 Ft Feet 1957 Crosby

Crosby Capri is a three deck front cockpit steering fiberglass runabout manufactured by Crosby Aeromarine of Grabill, Indiana. This company was one of the early pioneers in the use of this new and controversial construction material. At the time, this synthetic (fiberglass) was relatively new and untested, although fiberglass boat models had made their appearance as early as 1950. Widespread acceptance by the boating community was not gained, however until the mid 1950s when companies began to standardize construction methods. At issue were weight and flotation. While fiberglass was strong, it was also very heavy when layered to achieve the required level of strength. Further, it would not float when swamped so sealed air chambers had to be designed into the hull and/or styrofoam blocks fastened to the seat bottoms as an early solution. In fact this late 1957 model sports a 3 cubic foot air chamber under the front deck which added 200 lbs of additional buoyancy. The wood interior of the Crosby also aided in providing additional flotation through the 1957 model year. A fiberglass interior appeared in 1958 and later models. What set Crosby apart from its competitors was the incorporation of strips of balsa wood laminated between two fiberglass floor layers. The 2 cubic feet of balsa cut into 1 inch square by 6 ft strips added a conservative 105 lbs of additional buoyancy which was twice a buoyant as cork. Additionally the could bend to conform to hull contours, and had great shock absorbing and sound deadening properties. Abner Crosby, the company's founder sold out to Archer-Daniels-Midland in 1958 and went on to found the Hydrodyne Boat Company which produced similar boats. In fact, his quality reputation caused most of the original Mercury 7 astronauts to choose his boats for their personal use. Also, First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy ordered a Hydrodyne in 1963 for her family to use in their Cape Cod summer home.

The boat was my brothers pride and joy. He left me with it but I would like to sell it to someone who can use it and take care of it. My brother saw the boat in his friend's yard in the early 2000's. He bought the boat and started working on it right away. He even devoted his garage to it for several years. In the process he stripped and painted the hull. He also bought new parts and had some others re-chromed. You could tell he loved the Rocket by the time and money he spent on it. Both the boat and trailer have titles. Extras that come with the boat are in the pictures. [PRICE REDUCED - APRIL 2024 - from $6,900 to $3,000 by a motivated owner. Make an offer!]

13.5 feet Feet 1937 Thompson Bro's Boat Mfg. Co., Peshtigo, WI

This original vintage 1937 Thompson Bro's wooden cedar strip row boat was fully restored by our late father Robert (Bob) Kraemer in May 1986. It is in excellent condition (hardwood oak seats) and ready for the water! The boat comes with a trailer and 1949-1952 (Serial #350385 so it is that year range based on our research) vintage Mercury KF5 Super5 5HP outboard motor. It also comes with fully restored wooden oars, carpet pad for the bottom, classic vintage anchor, and battery operated bow and stern lights. Our father Bob was an avid duck and goose hunter (as well as whitetail and mule deer, turkey, bear, elk hunter and fisherman) and who was a life-long conservationist with an eye and love of the outdoors, which he passed these traditions on to his 4 sons and grandchildren. He was a life-long supporter of Ducks Unlimited and was the editor and publisher of the DU Webfoot News for over 25 years. Our dad was born in 1937 and DU was also first established in 1937 so he purchased this 1937 Thompson Bro's wooden cedar-strip boat as a way to commemorate the year DU was established and year of his birth. He completely restored it by himself in May 1986 (see plate of restoration date with his name and month/year stamped in the rear hull of the boat). The boat has been kept in storage and is in excellent condition (just like it was in May 1986 when he restored it), and is ready for another collector to add this age-old beauty to their collection or continue to use for duck hunting, fishing, or just for enjoying the serenity of a local lake. 16 Feet 1880 William A. Martin Adirondack Guideboat

This museum-quality Antique Guideboat was built in the 1880’s by William Martin, Saranac Lake, Franklin County, New York; a well known builder of these fine small watercraft. It is an excellent survivor in original condition. William Martin's boats were commonly referred to as ‘Eggshells’, due to his fine craftsmanship resulting in a 16’ boat weighing in at approximately 60 lbs which allowed a single Adirondack Guide to carry the boat over the many ‘carries’ connecting lakes and streams throughout the Adirondacks. It has been in the same family since the mid – 1960s always kept in an enclosed ‘dry’ Adirondack boathouse when not in use. It is reluctantly offered for sale and includes a set of 8’ oars and all the expected seating as well as a carrying yoke.

14 Feet 1970's Kawartha Metis Canoe

This beautiful canoe was made by the Kawartha Métis & N.S. Indian Association (Burleigh Falls, Ontario, Canada) in the 1970's.  Many aspects are very similar to boats built by Peterborough including the ribs, decking, and coamings. It is a fine example of Canadian craftsmanship and is in outstanding original condition. Enjoy a luxurious ride on your favorite lake or use this as a magnificent show piece for your home, B&B or business. This canoe has always been stored indoors, in temperature control and away from direct sunlight. Meticulously cared for over the years and maintained. It was last in the water in 2019 and is watertight and sea worthy. We're selling this beauty because although we love this boat we don't use it with our young kids and we're renovating and need the space. We hope it finds a new home that enjoys it as much as we have. 2 vintage wooden paddles are also included. Although not restored (one has a crack in the blade) they look good and are perfect for a simple DIY restoration project).

16 Feet 1940 Peterborough

Cedar double ended rowing skiff with spoon oars with leathers. Boat came from Muskoka area. Had been owned by the Hand family then another party in Ontario. I got it about 20 years ago and subsequently had some strips, 1/2 keel and a stem replaced by the instructors at Urban Boatbuilders in St Paul. the outer hull was stripped and I varnished with Deks Olje. Our use at the cottage was great but our use is inconvenient by the repeated in and out with soaking when we would return after a few weeks away. Deck batten boards need repair or replacement. All original hardware including the rare foot brace. Interior and gunwales could/should be refinished. Has been in dry storage for 5 years. No trailer, can car top or fit inside a van. This boat and engine were cleaned and flushed after every use, and it has spent nearly all of its life in the garage when it wasn’t in the water. Galvanized Sportsman trailer with two new hubs and a spare tire. Tires are in very good condition. This handsome boat always sparks conversation and raises plenty of eyebrows at the boat ramp. Clean, solid, classic and in very good condition. More pictures available upon request.

17 Feet 1958 Chris-Craft Sportsman

Epifanes on the deck & hull, Tonkinois on the interior. Rubberized calk. Unfortunately, now that it's more or less complete, I no longer have the time to sail it!

17 Feet 1914 B. N. Morris Heavy Water Canoe

This canoe is very similar to a 1910s-1920s Old Town but was built by the B. N. Morris Canoe Company in Veazie, Maine in 1914. Morris produced wood and canvas canoes from 1891 until fire destroyed the factory late in 1919. The 17-foot Heavy Water canoe was apparently shipped to Maryland in 1915. It later found its way to the hands of a Warren Proctor, who owned a camp in northern Pittsburg, New Hampshire where it spent most of its life being paddled on the first Connecticut River lake. Upon his death, she was acquired by the current owner. It has been stored inside since. The factory green was repainted with a blue tone which is now cracked and in need of a refresh. Most of the sail rigging is original to canoe. The canoe also sports a new custom-built floor rack, a brass flagpole socket, a painter ring and a period-correct Old Town decal. Additionally, the canoe comes with an original Old Town canoe chair, pennant, mast-top ribbon, photos of the recent restoration, and a copy of the original Old Town build record. This canoe was featured on the cover of the journal "Wooden Canoe", vol. 40, number 3, which contains her full story.
