Diversey Yacht Club boasts one of the best settings in all of the city; beautiful view of the skyline, abundant boats in the harbor and the waterfront. Its simply picturesque. If you happen to be a guest of a member of the Yacht Club (the Club is only accessible to members), then either enjoy a view of the harbor along with a cocktail or use the washrooms because dining is not recommended, unless your idea of a meal consists of cold hamburgers, French fries that are baked (not fried) and have no salt, and food served absent of utensils. The wait staff excels at offering "another round, how would you like another round?", but falls down on the job at cleaning tables, setting utensils (prior to serving food), and apologizing for shortcomings. On a recent visit it was noticed that servers had to bring food out of a back door and then to walk over a rope - all while carrying a tray of plated entrees - in order to serve a table; this is a workplace accident waiting to happen. Appetizers were brought to the table on two different visits before napkins and silverware, and when it was pointed out it took another 10 minutes for service to appear so food aint hot anymore. Several different entrees were served with inconsistent levels of warmth. Bartenders served cocktails while requesting inconsistent payment from customers, which could lead someone to wonder about accounting and profitability. It is possible that the restaurant is experiencing a higher than average level of shrinkage or there is outright mismanagement. Some slip owners say only a small percentage are members of the Yacht Club, and its hard to see compelling reasons to join this place because aside relatively clean washrooms and a great view, this place is run like your nastiest-grimiest-dirtiest corner tavern along with some drunk patrons to round out the scene, so better options include ordering a beer and doing a pizza delivery.

I was very excited to have a place that would deliver pizza to our boat & thought the prices were reasonable, HOWEVER it was not good enough to be charged 3 times and have the owner argue with me (even calling me back twice to yell at me!) about the extra charges. If you're going to take a chance due to convenience, my advice is to pay with cash.

Diversey Harbor

Diversey Harbor is located in the heart of Lincoln Park sheltered within Lake Shore Drive.  Due to bridge restrictions, Diversey can only accommodate power boaters and has a friendly and lively reputation.  Within walking distance of the harbor is the Lincoln Park Zoo and the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum.  The harbor is also the home to the Diversey Yacht Club.  Diversey has 719 slips and can accommodate boats from 25’-50’ in length.

Transient docking is available; please call the harbor directly for reservations any time after May 15.  There is a fuel dock at Diversey Harbor located at the Diversey Yacht Club with gas and diesel fuels.  Additionally, there is a 2-lane launch ramp with parking for approximately 67 vehicles with trailers.  Waste pump-out equipment is provided on a no-charge basis.

Coordinates:

From Lake Shore Drive exit onto Fullerton Ave. headed west.  Cross over the bridge and take a right onto Cannon Drive.  The entrance for the harbor will be 1/4 mile on your right hand drive.  Note: harbor driveway is one-way.
