Captain - Michael Sharrow | American Throughout Michael’s nearly thirty-year career as Captain and crew on various chartered, private, recreational, delivery boats and yachts, he has been blessed with unique opportunities to travel the world and cross nearly every ocean. Having experience in freelance and delivery work has allowed Michael to grow his experience and knowledge on a variety of boat builds and familiarize himself with different systems. Michael is extremely competent in yacht mechanics and electrical, international shipping and receiving, itinerary planning and all over maintenance, care and management. He has received extensive training and experience in Marine Environment and sailed throughout the world being blessed to visit more than 100 different countries, thousands of islands, and meet many amazing people from all over the planet along the way. He has had the opportunity to live in Japan, Europe, and now calls South Florida his permanent home. It has been a truly epic adventure and Michael looks forward to continuing it on board SEA OWL! EXTERIOR The huge sun deck has a retractable roof over the dining / bar area offering sun or shade accordingly. Aft on the sun deck is a row of sumptuous sun loungers and on the foredeck, there is a sunken lounge and sun padded area which can be covered by a soft bimini if required.

The main deck aft offers an alternative dining area with a wide u-shaped sofa where guests can savour a leisurely al fresco meal served by the attentive crew.

INTERIOR The contemporary main salon offers lounge and dining spaces set off beautifully by light wood flooring and neutral soft furnishings. The master suite is forward on the main deck and the additional guest suites are on the lower deck.

As guests navigate the vessel, the prose from the carefully curated bookshelves seems to come alive. The central staircase of this charter yacht is encircled by the remarkable Tree of Life, a breathtaking masterpiece crafted entirely from Brazilian Mahogany. U.S. Coast Guard offloads $63 million of cocaine after shootout at sea sinks suspected drug smuggling boat and crew

The U.S. Coast Guard said it offloaded more than 4,800 pounds of cocaine worth over $63 million at a port in Florida on Thursday — two days after officials said Coast Guard officers fired at and sank a speedboat suspected of smuggling drugs in the Caribbean Sea.

The cocaine offloaded on Thursday was the result of two operations off the coast of Puerto Cabello, Venezuela, the Coast Guard said in a social media post . The operation was conducted by a Royal Netherlands Navy patrol boat, which had a Coast Guard law enforcement detachment and helicopter interdiction tactical squadron on board.

The announcement of the cocaine seizures came just two days after authorities said the same Dutch navy ship and U.S. Coast Guard assets in the Caribbean Sea "identified a vessel suspected of smuggling narcotics in international waters." Officials said in a news release Thursday that the suspected drug vessel, a speedboat, failed to stop early Tuesday morning when signaled and instead headed straight toward the Dutch patrol boat.

Dutch Navy officers and U.S. Coast Guard members on board the patrol boat fired their weapons at the speedboat "in self-defense and defense of others in response to the life-threatening situation," officials said. The speedboat caught fire and sank, and three suspected smugglers went overboard and disappeared below the water, the Coast Guard said.  

The U.S. Coast Guard, Royal Netherlands Navy and Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard suspended search efforts for the three suspects on Tuesday evening, officials said. There were no reported injuries to the Dutch and U.S. officers.

"The Coast Guard is America's primary maritime law enforcement agency, and our crews work hard to safely bring suspected smugglers to face federal prosecution in the United States for alleged crimes," Lt. Cmdr. John W. Beal said in a statement Thursday.

The cocaine seizure and shootout in the Caribbean Sea come about a week after a separate Coast Guard crew offloaded $468 million worth of cocaine in San Diego .  That haul was the result of eight separate operations off the coasts of Mexico and Central and South America.   

International drug traffickers routinely use different kinds of boats to move narcotics. In May, Italian police announced the seizure of a  remote-controlled submarine  likely intended to transport drugs as part of an international drug trafficking network. Also last month, the French navy said it seized 2.4 tons of  cocaine  from a Venezuelan fishing boat about 1,500 kilometers northeast of the Caribbean island of Martinique.

In March, authorities announced a massive cocaine shipment seizure in the Caribbean Sea off of Colombia after military ships and planes chased down a speedboat holding almost four tons of the drug.

Earlier that month, a British warship and an American patrol aircraft chased down a speedboat as its crew tried to flee and dump its cargo of drugs into the water near the U.S. Virgin Islands. British sailors and a U.S. Coast Guard team eventually recovered about 6,000 pounds of cocaine and other drugs, officials said.

Much larger  semi-submersibles , which cannot go fully underwater, are popular among international drug traffickers as they can often elude detection by authorities. The so-called "narco-subs" are sometimes  seized  in Colombian waters while heading to the United States, Central America and Europe.

David Guetta is more than “good” and “feelin’ alright” after signing a residency deal with Sin City’s newest luxury resort, Fontainebleau Las Vegas, and its Miami location as well, Page Six has exclusively learned.

The Grammy-winning DJ’s two-year contract is set to kick off in 2025 with both nighttime performances at Fontainebleau’s LIV and daytime experiences at LIV Beach.

“I’m so grateful to [Fontainebleau CEO] Jeff Soffer for giving me a stage to do what I love for the greatest fans in the world,” Guetta, 56, said via a press release Monday.

“I get excited every time I’m about to perform at LIV in Miami, and now I cannot wait to start a fresh chapter at LIV Las Vegas inside the Strip’s newest luxury resort. It is going to be incredible!”

The “When Love Takes Over” hitmaker’s new residency comes after he spent more than 10 years performing at Fontainebleau competitor Wynn Las Vegas.

In May 2022, on the 10th anniversary of his residency at that luxe hotel, Guetta told Forbes that it was “crazy” to see how much the music scene had expanded in Sin City since he started spinning there.

“It was crazy to see that most billboards were about deejays, because it was really not the case,” he added to the publication.

Page Six reached out to Guetta’s reps for comment on why the “Without You” musician decided to jump ship but did not immediately hear back.

The new contract peculiarly also comes as Fontainebleau and Wynn are embroiled in a lawsuit over alleged employee poaching.

Per the Las Vegas Review-Journal , Wynn’s attorneys claimed that they were trying to prevent Fontainebleau from disrupting existing contracts between its company and its top executives.

However, Fontainebleau attorney Todd Bice argued that Wynn was trying to use the court to intimidate employees and prevent them from seeking better opportunities.

As for Guetta, a source tells Page Six exclusively that the French DJ thought his Fontainebleau deal was desirable because it offered him an opportunity to reach audiences both in Las Vegas and Miami.

“His East coast fans can see him in Miami and his West coast can see him in Vegas,” the insider says. “It’s the perfect combo.”

Hospitality magnate David Grutman, who owns LIV and has a major presence at the Miami establishment as a South Florida native, also raved why the new partnership is an ideal match.

“LIV is known as the stage for the top DJs and performers,” Grutman, 49, explained. “David Guetta’s international reach elevates that stage to new heights.”

Soffer, 56, meanwhile, added, “David [Guetta] is a once-in-a-generation talent who embodies the charisma and class that defines the Fontainebleau brand.

“He’s a natural fit for the luxury lifestyle and vibrant energy of LIV and LIV Beach, and his presence underscores Fontainebleau’s status as a global entertainment destination featuring the artists that audiences want to see.”

He concluded, “If you’re not here, you’re missing an unparalleled experience, and we are so excited to provide David this exclusive stage at our resorts.”

Can you have beer on a boat in Florida? What the law says about drinking on the water

You can’t drink in a vehicle, or even carry an open bottle of alcohol.

Boating in Florida is a different story.

Not only is it OK to have beer aboard a boat, everyone can chug, even the captain. The only restriction on the operator of the boat: Don’t exceed the blood-alcohol level considered to be legally drunk.

Here are some things to know about boating and drinking in Florida:

What are the restrictions on boating and drinking in Florida?

▪ While open container laws don’t pertain to boats like they do cars, and it’s legal to consume alcohol on vessels, boat operators are held to the same legal standards as drivers on the road and must be sober.

▪ Boat passengers and boat operators can drink on board. But if the operator’s blood- or breath-alcohol level is .08 or higher — the same level as a driver on the road — then it’s considered boating under the influence and a violation of state law.

What is the penalty for drunk boating in Florida?

People who operate a boat under the influence can be fined up to $500 and imprisoned for up to six months for a first conviction. Second convictions carry fines up to $1,000 and a prison term of up to nine months.

What about boating accidents in Florida?

▪ Almost a quarter of fatal boating accidents involved drugs and alcohol in 2023 — and a whopping 82% involved operators with no formal boating education, according to the Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission. Half of all reported boating collisions in 2023 were linked to inattention and improper lookout procedure.

▪ Florida leads the nation in the number of boats, with 1,035,911 registered vessels in 2023, an 8 percent increase over 2019, according to the FWC. During the pandemic, more people moved to Florida, leading to more boats on the water. Last year, there were 659 boating accidents reported statewide. Of those, 56 were fatal — about 9 percent — resulting in the death of 59 people.

▪ Monroe County had the highest number of boating accidents and injuries in 2023, with 87 accidents involving three fatalities and 62 injuries, the FWC said in its annual report on Florida boating accidents.

How do drinking and driving laws differ on sea and land?

▪ In motor vehicles, Florida law bans carrying an open container of alcohol or consuming alcohol. That covers both drivers and passengers.

▪ Containers with a broken seal can be kept in locked compartments that are inaccessible to the driver and passengers. That means you can put your alcohol in a locked glove compartment or in the trunk.

▪ You can drink as a passenger in a bus or a taxi. Self-contained motor homes over 21 feet in length are also safe. Keep in mind that Uber and Lyft drivers don’t possess commercial driving licenses, so you would be in violation of the law if you drink as a passenger in a ride-share vehicle. And some public buses ban all drinks on board, even a soda.
