Mexican tycoon Ricardo Salinas Pliego his family and friends arrive in Sevilla in his new yacht (Lady Moura)

Last Thursday, the Mexican businessman, Ricardo Salinas Pliego  docked in the port of Seville  (Andalusia), in southern Spain, in the company of his family and friends, aboard his new yacht Lady Moura, which was bought for  125 million euros  (equivalent to more than 2.6 billion Mexican pesos) from the  Saudi billionaire Nasser Al-Rashid  last year.

This vehicle, with the flags of the Bahamas, and considered one of the  15 most luxurious , has a ballroom, spa, casino, helicopter, beauty salon, cinema, elevator, swimming pool with retractable roof, beach club, air conditioning and As if that were not enough, the name on the helmet was made  with 24-karat gold.

Entirely designed by Luifi Sturchio and built in 1990 by Blohm+Voxx, in Hamburg, the yacht measures 104.85 meters in length and reaches a  maximum speed of 22 knots , has four levels, a crew of 71 people, and a capacity to accommodate 27 guests in 13 luxury cabins , according to the El Mundo newspaper.

The Mexican tycoon visited the port of Seville this Holy Thursday on the occasion of the  traditional Holy Week . The arrival of the majestic Salinas vehicle was published this Sunday by the newspaper El Mundo, along with a photo of the  ship docked in the Guadalquivir River.

After docking, Salinas and his companions left for Triana to dine at  one of the best restaurants  on the site, known as La Casa de María, they also saw the departure of the brotherhood of Esperanza de Triana, according to the publication of The World newspaper.

Later, while the yacht was still docked in the Guadalquivir river, they were seen  walking around the city.

De acuerdo con el diario ‘El Mundo’, la tarde del Jueves Santo, Salinas Pliego visitó la región de Andalucía en compañía de su esposa, para ver las procesiones de las celebraciones religiosas. Y no es la primera vez que utiliza este tipo de embarcaciones. En 2012 y 2014, atracó en el muelle Sevillano a bordo de su yate ‘Azteca’.

En esta ocasión visitó Triana, comió en el restaurante La casa de María, con vistas al río Guadalquivir y la plaza del Altozano y el puente de Triana, por donde pasa la procesión de la cofradía de la Esperanza de Triana.

Mientras tanto, su nuevo yate, cuyo nombre ‘Lady Moura’ está grabado en letras de oro de 24 kilates, yacía en las aguas sevillanas. Todo de manera muy discreta, pues la ciudad estaba de luto por la muerte de Jesucristo.

La publicación detalla que alcanza una velocidad máxima de 22 nudos. Fue construido en 1990 por Blohm+Voxx, en Hamburgo, y diseñado por completo por Luigi Sturchio, siendo reacondicionado por última vez en 2020.

El Mundo revela que luego de atracar, Salinas y sus acompañantes se dirigieron a Triana donde cenaron en La Casa de María, uno de los mejores restaurantes del lugar, y vieron la salida de la cofradía de la hermandad de la Esperanza de Triana.

The windy Russian autumn weather might be a little bit tricky for sailing, but it doesn’t stop brave yachtsmen from all over the world from flocking to Russian capital in the beginning of September when the Moscow Yacht Show commences. The main Russian Yacht exhibition gathers professional and amateur yacht lovers together under the wing of The Royal Yacht Club.

This year it took place for a fourth time already. The exhibition is considered the principal event on the sporting and social calendar. The Moscow Yacht Show 2010 united in one area three of the largest Russian yachts distributors: Ultramarine, Nordmarine and Premium Yachts.

A wide range of yachts were on display for a week. An exhibition showcased yachts both from Russian manufacturers and world famous brands: Azimut, Princess, Ferretti, Pershing, Riviera, Doral, Linssen, etc.

It was a real feast for seafarers as visitors of the show had a unique chance not only to take a look at the newest superyachts before they hit the market, but also to evaluate their driving advantages during the test drive. The show provided an excellent opportunity for yacht enthusiasts to choose and buy a new boat for the next season.

The event started with the grandiose gala evening. It included grand dinner, the concert and professional awards ceremony for achievements in Russian yachting industry. The guests also enjoyed the annual regatta.

The round trip journey takes two and a half hours and floats past all the big sights like the White House, Novodevichy monastery and the Kremlin. There’s a large open air observation deck up top, while the main body of the ship houses a restaurant with a dance floor for a romantic post dinner dance. For a particularly romantic experience take one of the evening boats and admire the bright lights of the city skyline at night.
