PRESENTING M/Y NO BAD IDEAS
The 130 foot motoryacht NO BAD IDEAS originally hit the charter scene at the St. Maarten Charter Yacht Exhibition. Built by Westport, the famed builder designed the megayacht for fun and placed a great emphasis on fishing. She is now focused on Bahamas yacht charter vacations.
The owner of the motor yacht NO BAD IDEAS is a hardcore fisherman. He had Westport outfit the luxury yacht with a 31-foot powerboat tender (built by Jupiter, one of the best you can buy) as well as a 19.6 foot Hell’s Bay flats fishing boat for taking into the narrows where the bigger tender can’t go. NO BAD IDEAS has 68 different kinds of rods and reels on board, all organized for fly fishing, deep-sea dropping (to 1,200 feet with electric reels), trolling, and every other kind of fishing you can imagine.
BAHAMA BOUND
Clients looking for a Bahamas yacht charter will appreciate the yacht’s commitment to adventure-filled charters. From fishing to diving, to snorkeling and waterskiing — anything goes. When the waves are crashing on the beach, the yacht offers five surfboards, plus kneeboards, wakeboards, and even a skurf rider.
The yacht underwent a refit in the summer of 2007 to make it compliant with the MCA Code (a safety precaution for charter yachts), as well as to make room for more water toys, including Jet Skis.
Double doors open to the yacht’s Aft Deck and walk forward. To your port and starboard, you’ll find 2 soft chairs with ottomans. The luxury motor yacht’s conversation area is next with a deep rich brown sofa, chair with an ottoman, and two burgundy leather rocking chairs surrounding a wooden, granite-accented coffee table. The middle of the yacht’s salon contains a 42″ pop-up Plasma TV and full entertainment system/Surround sound. Continuing forward is the intimate dining area, which seats 10. A day head is located forward of the dining area to starboard.
A 40″ Plasma TV is located above the bar with 4 stools and is visible to the large alfresco dining table for 6. A half-moon couch seats 4 and has a low-raised, canvas-topped coffee table. The vessel has wraparound decks that lead to the bow with sun pads, a circular sitting area, and ladder access to the flybridge deck.
Fully-enclosed. This favorite gathering area features plush, spacious seating, a full bar with three bar stools, a mini library, a game table, a relaxing sofa, and a 27″ TV/DVD w/theater sound. In addition, the mega yacht has a day head just forward of the sky lounge.
SKY LOUNGE DECK
CD player, BBQ grill, and formal dining area with 4 chairs and L-shaped seating at an expandable table.
Open area with wraparound seating and 2 large umbrellas for shade. Sun pads and wet bar with 4 bar stools complete the area for great conversation and sun.
Its location is on deck forward. The full-beam master contains a walkaround kingsized bed with a private office area. The suite has a walk-in cedar-lined closet, settee/vanity, and expansive dresser with ample storage space. Seating area with 2 plush chairs and table. For Sale: Recently-Refit 160-foot Trinity Yachts
- By Jake Lamb
- July 5, 2024
Trinity Yachts was a custom superyacht builder based in New Orleans with a 27-year history of producing aluminum- and steel-hulled superyachts. No Bad Ideas is a 2000 160-foot Trinity currently listed with Worth Avenue Yachts which underwent a $20 million, two-year refit that finished in spring 2024. Worth Avenue Yachts says , “Every facet of the yacht has been meticulously replaced or revitalized, ensuring a turn-key experience for its new owner. This remarkable vessel presents a unique opportunity to acquire the most comprehensively updated Trinity in existence.”
The extensive refit includes the hull being extended by 10 feet, new paint, a complete interior refit by A La Mer, new exterior upgrades, all new electrical, new safety equipment, air-system upgrades and more .
Impressive outdoor spaces onboard No Bad Ideas are abundant, starting with the swim platform. At anchor, the extended swim platform transforms into a unique beach club with a built-in 10-person hot tub, freshwater shower and two large umbrellas. While underway, two PWCs are stored on the swim platform.
The main deck cockpit is for lounging with a four-person bar and the transom settee and oversized ottomans. Moving up to the bridge deck’s aft deck, guests will find the exterior formal dining space with a 12-person high-gloss dining table, and there is a semi-wrap-around settee and lounge pad aft for post-dinner discussions.
While the aft section of the sun deck is used for tender stowage, a six-person bar and a U-shaped dinette sits amidships. Forward, four chaise lounge chairs are abaft a 10-person Jacuzzi with sun pads on either side. The Portuguese bridge deck features an oversized lounge area with custom seating for 12, which surrounds a gas fire pit, along with two sun beds forward that flank the walkway to the bow where two more PWCs are stowed.
Regarding interior entertainment spaces, the main deck salon has a conventional layout with a lounge area aft and formal dining forward. The bridge deck skylounge has additional lounge seating and a four-stool bar. No Bad Ideas has both an on deck master suite as well as an on deck VIP suite. Four additional king-berth staterooms reside belowdecks, all en suite. Two of the king berths can convert into double twin berths.
Crew accommodations onboard sleep up to nine people. The captain’s cabin is on the bridge deck aft of the wheelhouse with a double berth and en suite head. The engineer’s cabin is belowdecks aft of the engine room with a bunk bed and an en suite head. Three additional crew cabins are forward on the lower deck, each with twin/bunk-style berths and en suite heads. The crew lounge has an L-shaped dinette.
Twin 2,250 hp Caterpillar 3512 turbocharged, freshwater-cooled marine diesel engines provide propulsion, giving No Bad Ideas a 22-knot top speed and a 13-knot cruise. The engines have 8,429 hours on them as of May 2024.
It’s also worth noting the owner is open to selling 50 percent ownership share for interested parties.

Most expenses are deducted from an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), a fund that is added on top of the charter price. The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. The APA is based on the price of the yacht and ranges from 15% (crewed sailing yachts) to 30% (motor yachts with higher fuel consumption). You can actively control these expenses in your preference sheet (local vs. imported beverages) and by choice of itinerary (distances traveled). The remainder of the APA is returned after charter.">Price Terms: Plus Expenses

He began his career as a chef in 2002 and hasn’t looked back. Chef Warren has owned his own restaurant, been a consultant to many others, has done a lot of private and villa dining, and spent 2 years in Bali as Head chef of Ku De Ta. He decided he wanted to pursue his yachting career about 7 years ago after spending 2 years on and off M/Y Lady Christine. Chef Warren is classically French trained but has experience with many other cuisines and can cater to all different palates. He can accommodate any dietary requests and will always make sure everyone is accounted for. His plating style varies to suit the occasion, but he generally likes to do more relaxed family-style lunches that keep guests and crew energized throughout the busy day. For dinners, he likes to work with the stews to incorporate themed courses. Chef Warren loves the gym, yoga, photography, Jiu-Jitsu, golfing, and surfing but his greatest passion is food and the opportunity to create amazing dishes for guests to enjoy. Chef wants all guests to feel at home but also spoiled without having to ask for too much.
Name: Niel Rossouw
Position: Rotational Engineer Nationality: South African Description: Education/Certifications: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering; SV 2nd Engineer 3000GT; working toward 3000GT Chief Engineer license Languages Spoken: English, Afrikaans
Niel Rossouw was born to a winemaking family in Paarl, Western Cape, South Africa, and raised on a farm in the Breede River Valley. As a child, he spent his time mountain biking, hiking, working in the wine cellar, and playing rugby at school. Farm life and working with the wine machinery sparked his passion for engineering and following high school, he moved to Cape Town to study toward his diploma in Mechanical Engineering. At the same time, he became the lead guitarist in an oldies cover band, playing weddings, pubs, festivals, and more. After working as an engineer across the continent of Africa for six years, he realized the joy he found in travel and decided a career in yachting would allow him to work while seeing more of the world. His first marine engineering assignment had him crossing the Atlantic on a sailing catamaran from Cape Town to Grenada alongside three other crew members. As much as he loves the sea, he is equally passionate about renovating and general woodwork. His goal is to complete his Chief Engineer 3000GT license and start working on a rotational basis so he can have time on land to start doing home renovations. Playing acoustic and electric guitar is still his biggest hobby, but Niel also loves snorkeling, reading, and working on his home aquariums.
Name: Divan Neville Andre Venter
Position: Rotational Engineer Nationality: South African Languages Spoken: English/Afrikaans
Divan grew up in Pretoria, South Africa but moved to Umhlanga, Durban when he was in high school. During his childhood he did competitive endurance riding after school and later went on to obtain his private pilot’s license. After a friend made the suggestion, Divan decided to step into the yachting scene in 2017. At the time he wasn’t sure what he was getting into but now he couldn’t see himself anywhere else. First starting off as a Deckhand, Divan has learned the ins and outs of vessels and is now in the process of obtaining his SV license. Friends would describe Divan as energetic, enthusiastic, and eager. He is currently trying to learn how to play the saxophone but also enjoys running and cycling in his spare time.
Name: Cameron Green
Position: Bosun Nationality: South African Description: Education/Certifications: Bachelor of Arts in Graphic/ Web Design, Master of Yachts 200GT Languages Spoken: English
Cameron grew up in Cape Town, South Africa with a very athletic family as both of his parents were sponsored water-skiers. Capitalizing on his athletic genes, during high school Cameron started to take stand-up paddleboarding to the next level and began competing on the local circuit. Ever since he was little, Cameron was always on the water as his family had a boat. This led him to get introduced to yachting at a young age. Cameron loves to combine his photography and videography skills with his water sports background so guests can always count on Cameron to capture some great footage. He is known for being patient and is always willing to teach anyone that is willing to learn. In Cameron’s spare time you can find him being a videographer, stand-up paddleboarding, sailing, golfing, hydro-foiling, wakeboarding, surfing, snorkeling, or hiking. He hopes all guests leave NO BAD IDEAS with a record of nothing but great memories.

Crew Information
Captain: tony stewart / cuan odendaal.
Captain Tony Stewart (rotational) Tony Stewart hails from a Victorian seaport tucked away in the Pacific Northwest, Port Townsend Washington. Best known for its sailing and wooden boat building, he was submerged into a life on the ocean early on. As an astronomy aficionado, Tony followed the stars until it led him to South Florida where he began his career in yachting over 20 years ago. In 2002 he took a 5-year hiatus from the yachting community to own and operate his own dive boat in the Florida Keys. Tony enjoys the challenges of taking guests to imaginative and exotic locations. He has developed extensive cruising knowledge of the East and West coast of the USA and Canada, all through the Caribbean and Bahamas. Tony now holds a U.S Coast Guard 500ton oceans license. His expertise in electricity, mechanics, navigation, as well as a clear understanding of good seamanship, keeps Memento Vivere safe and sound. When he is not working, Tony is tinkering away at old cars while listening to some of his favorite tunes. You might find him in his sports jersey, cheering on his beloved “Sea Hawks” (he is a HUGE football fan!) Safety of the guests, crew, and vessel, is of paramount importance to Tony and is held in the highest regard. Tony carries the excitement and passion he has for the water everywhere he goes. His enthusiasm and attention to the needs of his guests will ensure that their stay aboard Memento Vivere will be unforgettable! Captain Cuan Odedaal (rotational) Details coming soon! First Officer Pieter (Piet) De Villiers Pieter was born and raised in the coastal city of Port Elizabeth, South Africa, where his passion and love for all things water related first sprouted. Growing up he spent most of his time at the beach. This, coupled with his family's annual boating holiday, Ray can also tell you all about that. He spent most of his time on the water wakeboarding, skiing, diving and fishing, which further developed this passion. After school Pieter did a personal trainer course, which explains why it looks like he needs to size up his uniform. He was always looking to get back onto the water when yachting became known to him. He then decided to do his yachting courses and soon after completion, his yachting journey started in Fort Lauderdale. Since then he has done multiple Caribbean and Mediterranean seasons. Pieter enjoys working with people and looks forward to bringing you the best experience onboard by sharing his passion for water sports with you. So, if you find yourself sitting behind him on the jetski, remember to hold on tight. Engineer Nicholas Last (rotational) Hailing from South Africa, Josh brings 8 years of maritime expertise, stemming from a family legacy of electricians and engineers. A professional problem solver, he ensures smooth sailing for all onboard. Beyond his technical prowess, Josh is an avid fisherman, kiteboarder, and surfer, with experience captaining vessels for deep-sea fishing in Mozambique. With 4 years in the Mediterranean and another 4 in the States, Bahamas, and the Caribbean, he guarantees a safe and unforgettable voyage for all guests. Engineer (rotational) Details coming soon! Chief Stewardess Vicky Feofilaktova Vicky was born in Russia (as that may frighten some of you, I can assure you that she is the bubbliest Russian of them all). She has always worked extremely hard to reach her goals. After her graduation at Civil aviation college in 2016, she wanted to become a flight attendant but soon discovered the yachting industry and immediately knew that would be a better fit for her, and since has brought the highest level of service to the interior team. Expertly organized, Vicky works well under pressure and truly enjoys a good challenge. One of Vicky’s favorite parts of charter trips are themed parties, always excited to show off her creative side with superb table décor and seeing guests creating lasting memories onboard. She keeps a close knit team with her loud and infectious laugh, so bring ear plugs. Vicky has found her niche in the yachting industry, anticipating guests needs with ease while performing her duties with a perpetual smile and a passion for efficient service. Second Stewardess Maryke (Ray) De Villiers Ray was born and raised in sunny South Africa in a small city known as, Port Elizabeth. She’s grown up on farms, in and around “ranchy” areas you could say. She’s always loved the outdoors and enjoyed horse riding for many years as one of her favorite hobbies. She’s always enjoyed the beach and she’s been lucky enough to live by the coast her whole life (she’s still learning how to surf apparently). Maryke has always loved working with kids as she was an au pair and an online teacher teaching many kids from Asia, basic English. Ray’s siblings joined the industry many years ago, and hearing about all their stories and adventures made her want to experience ones of her own. Little did she know that it would lead her straight to her brother, Piet, who she now works onboard with. Luckily there haven’t been any sibling rivalries, yet ;) Ray truly enjoys working in a team and making new friends that she can call family. With her loud and enthusiastic personality, she’s always wanted to be an actress and I’m pretty sure you’ll see her on the big screens in Hollywood one of these days. Deckhand Details coming soon! Chef Details coming soon!

He also enjoys flying his drone and editing the video footage that he captures.

";s:5:"photo";s:0:"";s:4:"size";s:1:"8";s:12:"captain_name";s:16:"Jonathan Barrett";s:14:"captain_nation";s:13:"South African";s:12:"captain_born";s:1:"0";s:15:"captain_license";s:60:"Marshall Islands 350GT Masters License / OOW 500GT; STCW 10 ";s:18:"captain_yr_sailing";s:1:"0";s:21:"captain_yr_chartering";s:1:"0";s:17:"captain_languages";s:42:"English, Afrikaans, Conversational Spanish";s:9:"crew_name";s:24:"Xanthea Danielle Van Wyk";s:16:"crew_nationality";s:13:"South African";s:12:"crew_license";s:68:"STCW 10 – PSSR, PST, Fire Fighting, First Aid; STCW 10 –";s:15:"crew_yr_sailing";s:1:"0";s:18:"crew_yr_chartering";s:1:"0";s:7:"crewimg";a:8:{i:1;a:2:{s:3:"url";s:76:"https://www.centralyachtagent.com/yachtadmin/yachtlg/yacht7205/7205crew1.jpg";s:4:"desc";s:7:"Captain";}i:2;a:2:{s:3:"url";s:76:"https://www.centralyachtagent.com/yachtadmin/yachtlg/yacht7205/7205crew2.jpg";s:4:"desc";s:16:"Chief Stewardess";}i:3;a:2:{s:3:"url";s:76:"https://www.centralyachtagent.com/yachtadmin/yachtlg/yacht7205/7205crew3.jpg";s:4:"desc";s:4:"Mate";}i:4;a:2:{s:3:"url";s:76:"https://www.centralyachtagent.com/yachtadmin/yachtlg/yacht7205/7205crew4.jpg";s:4:"desc";s:17:"Second Stewardess";}i:5;a:2:{s:3:"url";s:76:"https://www.centralyachtagent.com/yachtadmin/yachtlg/yacht7205/7205crew5.jpg";s:4:"desc";s:9:"Deck/Stew";}i:6;a:2:{s:3:"url";s:76:"https://www.centralyachtagent.com/yachtadmin/yachtlg/yacht7205/7205crew6.jpg";s:4:"desc";s:4:"Chef";}i:7;a:2:{s:3:"url";s:76:"https://www.centralyachtagent.com/yachtadmin/yachtlg/yacht7205/7205crew7.jpg";s:4:"desc";s:8:"Engineer";}i:8;a:2:{s:3:"url";s:76:"https://www.centralyachtagent.com/yachtadmin/yachtlg/yacht7205/7205crew8.jpg";s:4:"desc";s:8:"Deckhand";}}}

His goal is to complete his
Chief Engineer 3000GT license and start working on a rotational basis so he can have time on land to start doing home renovations.
