Refitted to an exacting standard in 2017, Sweet Escape is a 39.62m/ 130’ motor yacht custom built in 1993 by American shipyard Christensen. Her interior styling is by Glade Johnson Design in collaboration with Pam Williams, Patty Walker and Susan Peluo, while her elegant exteriors are by Howard Apollinio. Her previous names include Pacific Eagle.

With her exceptional toy locker and professional and accommodating crew, Sweet Escape promises a luxury yacht charter vacation that lives up to her name. 

She is perfect for those in search of some tropical sunshine, with plenty of well-designed alfresco deck areas and a great variety of water accessories, which includes an inflatable slide, scuba equipment and Flyboard.

The motor yacht is ideal if you're chartering with children, with lots of amenities to keep them entertained (including a games console) and a family-friendly layout. 

Sweet Escape is unique in that she offers two master suites for her guests to choose from. No matter what the configuration of your charter party, your guests will love her spacious, well-appointed and thoughtfully-designed accommodation. 

Interior Design

Glade Johnson Design has worked with Susan Peluo, Pam Williams and Patty Walker to create a warm and inviting on-board ambiance. Elegant styling, soft furnishings and bespoke accents feature throughout, which include original artworks by Romero Britto. Interior details include elegant art pieces, sumptuous seating and plush carpets.

Guest Accommodation

Sweet Escape offers flexible accommodation for up to 12 guests in six cabins. She features a full-beam master suite with his and hers ensuites, 2 VIP staterooms and 3 twin cabins. The third twin cabin features bunk beds, making it perfect for chartering with children or supernumerary guests such as bodyguards and nannies.

Each cabin has been designed to maximise space and storage, with a refined color palette and plenty of soft fabrics to create a cozy environment to spend your nights at sea. The yacht is capable of carrying up to 8 crew on board to ensure your every need is taken care of.  

Onboard Comfort & Entertainment

With an impressive selection of on-board facilities, Sweet Escape ensures her guests are suitably relaxed and entertained throughout their vacation. She offers a deck jacuzzi, sunpads, and a range of toys including a water slide and water golf with tee-off pad. Her swim platform provides easy access to the ocean, and her on-deck barbecue allows you to enjoy family-style meals. 

The yacht benefits from a well-equipped gym so that you and your charter party can keep up with your fitness routines at sea. She is also equipped with a range of technical systems, including satellite TV, iPod docking, Wi-fi and games consoles.

Underwater lights promise a dazzling sight once the sun sets and teak decks add to the feeling on board. For maximum comfort, she offers air conditioning and stabilisers that promise a smooth cruising experience while the yacht is underway. 

Special Features

With three decks to choose from, you will find plenty of areas to enjoy the alfresco lifestyle. Soft seating and sun chairs can be found on each deck, providing a relaxed setting for a morning coffee or evening aperitif.

Crowning the yacht is a sundeck, where you can kick back in the jacuzzi and stretch out on sunpads. A Portuguese bridge provides a secluded spot to soak up the scenery, while those looking to cool off in the sea can make full use of the yacht’s swim platform.

In terms of water toys and accessories, Sweet Escape has an impressive selection. She has three tenders for transporting you and your charter party to the shore. Her toy locker includes 4 Jet-Skis, 4 Seabobs, a Wakeboard, a Flyboard and a giant waterslide.  For underwater discovery, seasoned scuba pros can make use of scuba-diving equipment. 

She also offers Paddleboards, inflatable kayaks, an inflatable banana and fishing equipment for more relaxed fun. For anyone in your charter party with an interest in golfing, there is a water golf set with tee-off pad and floating golf balls. 

Performance & Range

Built with GRP hull and GRP superstructure, Sweet Escape features an ultra-modern stabilization system to reduce roll motion effect and ensure the ultimate comfort throughout your charter vacation. She benefits from a semi-displacement hull to provide exceptional seakeeping and impressive speeds.

Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, she reaches a cruising speed of 13 knots, a maximum speed of 17 knots and a range of 3,000nm from her 35,730 litre fuel tanks. Her low draft of 2.04m makes her primed for accessing shallow areas and cruising close to the shorelines.

Sweet Escape knows a thing or two about fun on the water, with an extensive selection of action packed water toys and accessories for you and your guests to enjoy whilst on charter. Principle among these is a Flyboard, experience flying in and out of the water with the latest in high adrenaline watersport. Another excellent feature is a Giant waterslide bringing a sense of fun that all the family can enjoy. Take to the sea on the Jet Skis offering you power and control on the water. If that isn't enough Sweet Escape also features waterskis, a seabob, wakeboards, kayaks, fishing equipment and much more. Sweet Escape features two tenders, but leading the pack is a 12.19m/40' Boston Whaler Tender to transport you in style.

2020 refit, major upgrades in 2022, sweet escape is a comprehensively equipped, serious and proven blue water cruising catamaran. this is a rare opportunity to own one of the best cats available, a 40' 3-cabin leopard catamaran, with everything you need to go on an extended cruise.

Currently cruising with the second owners. The original owners returned to Florida in 2022 after completing a 15-year around-the-world voyage. This vessel is well-built, and a super safe Catamaran. She is easy to sail and comes equipped with everything you will need to go cruising now! NOTE:** While heading home to Florida, she stopped in Cape Town, S. Africa, and had a complete refit in 2020 at the factory in Durban.**

These older Leopards were built stronger than the new ones! You will not find a better-equipped 40' cat under $350,000! These boats are light and fast. The lighter weight allows her to ride easily over waves and her sharp bows and clean underwater profile cut cleanly as well as minimize drag. Visibility is excellent over the coach roof and a sliding hatch cover in the hard cockpit Bimini over the helm makes it easy to keep track of sail shape. The cockpit and salon include inside and outside cushions. Interior cushions have removable/washable covers.

The Galley is practical with large cabinets for storage and a flip-down countertop which facilitates the passage of food and drinks to the table in the cockpit. Dining accommodates eight people sitting comfortably, leaving free access to the cockpit. The cockpit transitions to the aft steps which aid with easy entry in/out of the water from swim ladder on the port side. The galley-up design incorporates a spacious saloon and aft-facing galley with a cocktail bar and serving window overlooking the cockpit. Accommodations include 3 double cabins, and two large heads with separate shower stalls.

The 3-cabin layout features an owner-dedicated starboard hull with master stateroom, office area and large head with separate walk-in shower forward, including a custom queen mattress (folding), an office area with long bookshelves, with the water maker in the forepeak. Cherry paneled finishes with solid trims are throughout. The entire Owner’s ˜wing” can be discreetly closed away, creating complete privacy and the luxurious feeling of being able to roam undisturbed while guests or children enjoy the rest of the boat. Guests will enjoy the large cockpit with an outside dining area, protected by a functional hard-top Bimini, fitted as standard, as well as a custom enclosure.

Guest accommodations (Port Hull) include 1 queen cabin with a custom mattress in the stern and a double cabin forward. In the port forepeak, there is a 1.9 cubic ft. chest freezer hard-wired into the electrical system. There is a head with a separate shower located mid-ship.

She grew up living aboard her family’s 47’ GulfStar Sailmaster, cruising up and down the East Coast and through the Bahamas for nearly twenty years. Melanie captained and crewed on various boats while working her way through college, then bought and lived aboard her first sailboat, Short Story, a 1969 Columbia 28, while attending graduate school in North Miami. She’s owned many boats since then. She is also an author (her books include memoirs Boat Girl and Boat Kid), contributor to Cruising World (her Short Story column ran in the magazine from 2006 to 2009) and BoatUS magazines, a freelance editor, and has worked over the years as everything from boat detailer to college professor to educational administrator. Her father, maritime author Tom Neale, instilled in her a love of sailing, writing, perusing boat listings, hard work, and repairing marine diesel engines. Melanie currently cruises the local waters of St. Augustine, FL, on various boats with her daughter, Maryann. She is a solo sailor and full-time single parent. Just back from cruising--owned and maintained by expert mariners who have doted on her (second owners). After a circumnavigation with her original owners, this 2007 Robertson & Caine Leopard 40 underwent a complete refit in 2020 at the Leopard factory in Durban, South Africa.

2020 refit, major upgrades in 2022, sweet escape is a comprehensively equipped, serious and proven blue water cruising catamaran. this is a rare opportunity to own one of the best cats available, a 40' 3-cabin leopard catamaran, with everything you need to go on an extended cruise.

Currently cruising with the second owners. The original owners returned to Florida in 2022 after completing a 15-year around-the-world voyage. This vessel is well-built, and a super safe Catamaran. She is easy to sail and comes equipped with everything you will need to go cruising now! NOTE:** While heading home to Florida, she stopped in Cape Town, S. Africa, and had a complete refit in 2020 at the factory in Durban.**

These older Leopards were built stronger than the new ones! You will not find a better-equipped 40' cat under $350,000! These boats are light and fast. The lighter weight allows her to ride easily over waves and her sharp bows and clean underwater profile cut cleanly as well as minimize drag. Visibility is excellent over the coach roof and a sliding hatch cover in the hard cockpit Bimini over the helm makes it easy to keep track of sail shape. The cockpit and salon include inside and outside cushions. Interior cushions have removable/washable covers.

The Galley is practical with large cabinets for storage and a flip-down countertop which facilitates the passage of food and drinks to the table in the cockpit. Dining accommodates eight people sitting comfortably, leaving free access to the cockpit. The cockpit transitions to the aft steps which aid with easy entry in/out of the water from swim ladder on the port side. The galley-up design incorporates a spacious saloon and aft-facing galley with a cocktail bar and serving window overlooking the cockpit. Accommodations include 3 double cabins, and two large heads with separate shower stalls.

The 3-cabin layout features an owner-dedicated starboard hull with master stateroom, office area and large head with separate walk-in shower forward, including a custom queen mattress (folding), an office area with long bookshelves, with the water maker in the forepeak. Cherry paneled finishes with solid trims are throughout. The entire Owner’s ˜wing” can be discreetly closed away, creating complete privacy and the luxurious feeling of being able to roam undisturbed while guests or children enjoy the rest of the boat. Guests will enjoy the large cockpit with an outside dining area, protected by a functional hard-top Bimini, fitted as standard, as well as a custom enclosure.

Guest accommodations (Port Hull) include 1 queen cabin with a custom mattress in the stern and a double cabin forward. In the port forepeak, there is a 1.9 cubic ft. chest freezer hard-wired into the electrical system. There is a head with a separate shower located mid-ship.

REFIT DETAILS

Her 2017 refit includes gymnasium changed into a 6th stateroom, sun pad on the Portuguese deck that doubles as a dining area for 10 guests, and Venetian plaster in Main Salon with Swarovski crystal chandelier.  In addition, new propellers, all new interior furniture, and new carpets and wooden Amtico flooring in different areas.  Further, wallpaper, a wine cooler, and soundproofing and insulation installed all over the vessel including over the Generators and engine room ceiling.

REFIT CONTINUES

He spent most of his late teenage years playing professional rugby for the Natal Sharks in Durban and enjoying water sports with family and friends. When it came to pursuing a career, unsurprisingly, he decided on yachting where he could enjoy his greatest passions every day! Calvin started his yachting career in 2018 on smaller sailing yachts where he gained a lot of experience before he moved on to bigger motor yachts. Cal has worked on busy private and charter yachts including 236 Azteca, 146 Gladiator, and others. Born and bred in beautiful Cape Town, South Africa, Christiaan’s love for the ocean came at a young age, spending most of his life surfing, diving, and sailing in the cold water. After graduating with an honors degree in Accounting, his heart was still with the ocean. Christiaan then set sail from Cape Town to the US to pursue a career in yachting. He was drawn to engineering and now holds an MCA Y3 Chief Engineer certification along with 15 years of experience in the industry.

JG Huisamen

Johannes Gideon Huisamen (“JG”) comes from the northern part of Pretoria, South Africa. JG spent his younger years modeling for brands back home, and he also worked in his father’s business as a salesman. Despite growing up inland all his life, JG always loved the ocean. Alice Guo confirms leaving PH by boats, one of which was a yacht

Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo on Monday said that they left the Philippines via boats, one of which was a yacht.

"Umalis po kami, Madam Chair, by boat po," Guo told a Senate panel.

(We left, Mada'm Chair, by boat.)

"Meron po kaming sinakyang yate po," she added, confirming the information asked by Senator Risa Hontiveros who is the chairperson of the panel.

(There was a yacht we boarded.)

After being pressed by the senators to tell more details about their escape, Guo said they climbed aboard the yacht in a port in Metro Manila.

However, Guo refused to divulge to the public the name of the person who facilitated their yacht ride and the owner of the same.

What she only recalled was that the yacht has "wings" stickers and numbers on it.

The senators tried to get the names of the facilitator and the owner by asking Guo to write it on a piece of paper, but she requested them not to divulge it in public.

Guo wrote the name of the facilitator of the trip on a paper, but she noted that she is not sure if he is the owner of the yacht.

Guo has repeatedly told the senators that she is afraid for her safety due to threats which she refused to divulge to the Senate panel.

After riding the yacht for a "few hours", they transferred to a bigger boat. She said she doesn't know the exact location where they made the transfer.

"Madilim pa rin po...Basta dagat po," she said.

(It was still dark. It was in the sea.)

After transferring to a bigger boat, Guo said they stayed in one room for days. She added that she was not aware of the time because they were told not to use their cellphones.

"Siguro mga four or three or five [days]. Basta matagal po...Four days po siguro... Hindi po kami pinapalabas," she said.

(Maybe four or three or five [days]. It was long... Four days maybe... We were not allowed to go out.)

She admitted that she felt afraid in the middle of the second boat ride.

"Kung puwede lang umatras, aatras na po ako...Nakakatakot po talaga," she said.

(If it were just possible to back out, I would have backed out... It was really scary.)

"Gusto ko na po umuwi. Gusto ko na po bumalik," she added.

(I wanted to go home. I wanted to go back.)

Asked why she did not return, Guo said, "Nagkamali po talaga ako (I really made a mistake)."

After riding the second "big" boat, Guo said they transferred to another small boat then proceeded to Malaysia.

"Paglabas po namin, may sinakyan pa kami isang maliit na bangka... 'Yung bangka po bumiyahe pa po kami tapos Malaysia na po," she said.

(When we got out, we boarded a small boat... That boat traveled to Malaysia.)

Asked about the location where they arrived in Malaysia, Guo said she doesn't know because they were instructed not to look around the places they have been.

In a separate Senate investigation last August 27, Guo's supposed sister, Shiela Guo, told the senators that they left the Philippines by riding several boats .

According to Shiela, the three of them were fetched by a van from their farm in Tarlac and they traveled southbound from dinner time to midnight.

However, she said she does not know the location where they rode a small white boat. According to Shiela, the small boat can only cater to around 10 people.

They then transferred to a bigger boat which Shiela said can accommodate many people. The second ship appears to be a fishing ship because there were nets on it, according to Shiela.

After riding what seemed to be a fishing ship, Shiela said they transferred again to a smaller boat.

Asked if the last boat transferred them to Malaysia, Shiela answered in the affirmative.

It took a month before the Philippine government became aware that Guo and her siblings had left the country in July.

Alice Guo is the subject of multiple complaints, one of which was filed with a Tarlac court, which ordered her arrest for her alleged connections to the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) in Bamban that was raided for illegal activities.

Among the complaints she is facing are graft, money laundering, and human trafficking.
