the food is okay but the service is terrible it took an hour for fries which is just ridiculous! I also asked for a side of sour cream and it took 30 minutes to bring! It is just unacceptable
I have had the pleasure of being invited to the Easter Brunch here and the experience was really nice. The Lighthouse Point yacht Club has been around for many years (longer than I have been around) and is located on an amazing piece of real estate in Light House Point surrounded by multimillion dollar homes and really nice yachts. The restaurant is only open to members so you need to be invited (special thanks to my friend) and the holiday events are done with style and class. The Easter Buffet was really amazing with a huge variety of breakfast, lunch, salad, and desert options that has something that will please everyone. The service was also high quality and will remind you of the way is used to be or let you know what you have been missing at the local restaurants. If you are invited to dine here then please drop me a line and also send an invite my way :)

Worst food in yacht club history. Followed by the most depressing atmosphere. NOT RECOMMENDED
Had my wedding at this beautiful yatch club last year. What a gorgeous place and gazebo. All my guests enjoyed the beautiful yatch and sunset during my ceremony. The appetizers and dinner selections were wonderful and large portions. Gina and her staff were very professional and accomodating. The dance floor and decor were gorgeous and everyone enjoyed the bar service and chocolate fountain. Very pleased!
Well it finally happened and change is coming to the last holdout of old South Florida... The club has been sold and huge projects are underway that will permanently alter its landscape and feel. I have an aunt who attended the original groundbreaking ceremonies in the early sixties and I grew up around the place. I remember when they would hand you a jacket and a tie if you didn't have them and I fondly recall the old Corinthian balls where blue bloods would waltz to a full orchestra. And while those days are long gone, little else has changed. What was once the third largest pool in the United States has been replaced by tennis courts, which will now be plowed over in favor of townhouses. Whether or not this will work is anyone's guess as where the hell is everybody going to park? Some hotshot kid (28 yrs old) bought the place and the first thing he did was demolish "The Hall of the Commodores" which had a picture of every commodore going back to the sixties... Nice!!! Way to erase the club's past, kiddo... But he has kept the vast majority of the staff so he can't be half bad! And he retained "Pasta Night", with its delicious pasta bars and all their fabulous toppings so we're off to a good start. But the club has only been open again for a month and theres already rumors that the new owner is broke... I'll keep my fingers crossed though, as a part of me will die when this place does. *UPDATE* The traditional Thanksgiving buffet was reduced to a Holiday Inn style banquet... even the sneezeguards were gone (Attention : Health Department) as were most of the delicious offerings of years past. Our salad bar didn't even have bacon bits!!! The new owner is obviously going to dismantle it and simply put up condos in its place... The sale stipulated that the property would remain a club and not that he was allowed to drive members away in droves (with sub par food and cheap, garish decor) until the day he could file Chapter 11 and tear the place down!
I have been to this club on several occasions, mostly for lunch and it was prior to the club having been sold. I also attended a fashion show after the sale and everything was wonderful. However I dinner with a small group of friends on March 17, St. Patrick's Day was very disappointed. In addition to a regular menu they offered corn beef and cabbage, a traditional Irish meal on that day. It's a meal I eat once a year & It was practically unrecognizable! The only thing that looked familiar was the 1 small red potato and 1 small piece of carrot. The corn beef was shredded & the cabbage was gray in color, shredded like sauerkraut but tasted awful. I spoke with most of the guests at the table and they too were very disappointed. I just felt that maybe the chef was trying to do something different with this meal. It was a big fail. People want corn beef and cabbage to taste like corn beef and cabbage and not something else.
We just had my daughter's wedding and reception at LPYRC and could not have been happier with the experience from start to finish. The catering manager Gina Miller went beyond our expectations with her experience and organization. I had no worries come wedding day!! How great is that?! The staff in the dining room were also outstanding starting with the banquet captain VIta! She and her people were professional and more than efficient. Hands down an awesome day!!!!
A beautiful facility tucked away amongst the residences of Lighthouse Point. Plenty of parking for your vehicle and your yacht, a beautiful restaurant and ballroom, friendly and courteous staff, and much more. My first visit made a fine first impression indeed.
LHP Yacht and Racquet Club is the best kept secret and has become an extraordinary family social club for several generations. We have experienced 3 generations of wonderful events including children's swim team, Easter bunny traditions, and holiday family dining memories. Also, the club evolves with your life from children's ages through a gorgeous, incomparable wedding, to current time as a member of the Corinthian Boaters Club.
