9 Must-See Yachts Debuting at the Miami International Boat Show

From a $355-million gigayacht, the largest-ever at a north american show, to a record-breaking electric runabout, this year's mibs has something for every mariner..

The Miami International Boat Show

Five days, six separate locations and more than 1,000 boats of all shapes and sizes on display—the Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show is on track to live up to its claim of being the largest boat and yacht show in the world. The show this year will have more available products, largely because the red-hot Covid market from last year has cooled.

“The manufacturers have caught up with product,” Andrew Doole, president of the US Boat Shows for Informa, told Robb Report . “As a result, we’ll see many new boats making their debuts in the convention center and also exceptional superyachts at Island Gardens.”

The show will kick off next Wednesday for its five-day run. Attendance at another recent Informa boat show was higher than last year, says Doole, giving him optimism that Miami will also outperform 2022.

Here are six newcomers, and two gigayachts new to the brokerage market, that promise to be showstoppers.

Lürssen ‘Ahpo’

miami superyacht show

Lürssen’s 378-foot Ahpo will be the largest gigayacht ever at any North American boat show. Delivered to its owner last year, but now up for sale for $355 million, the yacht has a wonderland interior that includes Asian-influenced designs, including silk wallpaper, hand embroidery and elaborate inlays of flying flamingoes, ginkgo leaves and red maple trees. Even the onboard IMAX Dolby cinema has twinkling LED stars in the ceiling. Designer Nuvolari Lenard also created a dedicated space catering to the multigenerational family, with a split-level suite for the owners, adjoining cabins for their children and parents and total accommodations for up to 16 guests. The mosaic-tiled spa sits at the heart of its outstanding wellness area, but also the yacht also has four pools of various sizes and a standout beach club. It will be moored in the Island Gardens marina.

Lürssen ‘Kismet’

miami superyacht show

Another superstar of this year’s Miami boat show is the spectacular 312-foot Lürssen-built megayacht, Kismet . Owned by Pakistani-American billionaire and sports lover Shahid Khan – he owns both the Jacksonville Jaguars and Britain’s Fulham soccer club – the yacht will be open for tours to a highly select few at the show’s SuperYacht Miami location. With a brand-new Lürssen, currently codenamed Project JAG and designed by Nuvolari Lenard, due to be completed for Mr. Khan later this year, Kismet is reportedly up for grabs for an eye-watering $181 million.

Lürssen Marguerite

miami superyacht show

Delivered in 2004, the 200-foot Marguerite (ex. Avanti, Aurora, Phoenix) was designed by Andrew Winch, with a classic interior and art-deco interior by Winch and Dawn Moffitt Design Inc. The superyacht, built by German yard Lürssen, was designed as a true oceangoing vessel, having the ability to be self-sufficient for 30 days. Beyond that, the owners also mandated that it be comfortable in all sea states. It’s listed for $48 million.

Absolute 52 Fly

miami superyacht show

In urban slang, the word Fly tends to mean cool, sexy, smart or stylish. That kind of describes to a tee Italian builder Absolute Yachts’ brand new 52 Fly flybridge cruiser making its world premiere in the Magic City. With its extensive hull and superstructure glazing—there’s almost as much glass as fiberglass—the interior spaces are flooded with light. And talking of interior, this new 52—bow to stern it’s actually 54 feet—shakes things up by putting its huge master suite in the bow with the VIP amidships. Power comes from a pair of 590 hp Volvo D8 diesels.

Tiara EX 60

miami superyacht show

Holland, Michigan-based Tiara Yachts just might have a new motto: “Go big, or go home”. At the Miami show they’re pulling the wraps off a brand new flagship—the 60-foot EX 60—which is the biggest, most luxurious Tiara to date. And with a sticker that starts at around $3.7 million, it’s also the priciest. But this newest EX has a lot to offer, including its major focus on outdoor space. If that stern cockpit wasn’t wide enough at 16 feet 11 inches, power-lowering side terraces expand the area to an impressive 20 feet six inches. Power is provided by twin 1350 Volvo D13 diesels that give an impressive 46 mph top speed.

Grady-White 281 Coastal Explorer

miami superyacht show

When fishing boat powerhouse Grady-White unveils a new boat, anglers the world over pay attention. For the Miami show, the 64-year-old Greenville, NC builder is unveiling its brand new 28-foot 281 Coastal Explorer center console. Designed for both inshore skinny waters as well as offshore swells, the 281 features Grady’s proven SeaV2 wave-cleaving deep-vee hull design. Fisherman-friendly features include a battle-ready casting deck in the bow with low gunwales, and an electric fold-down terrace on the portside of the helm for hauling in that giant grouper. Standard power is a single 425 hp Yamaha outboard, with the option of twin 300s.

miami superyacht show

Call it a true multi-national. Hylas Yachts’ new M49 is being built in Taiwan from a design by a New Zealand studio, to compete in the booming market for New England-style Down East cruisers. Big brother to the highly-successful Hylas M44, this salty 48-footer blends speedy performance—as in a 36 mph top speed—with exceptional rough-weather, offshore capability. Inside, the M49 features a comfy saloon under that big-windowed hardtop, with a spacious open rear “lounge” for entertaining. Trusty 370 hp Yanmar diesels do the powering. Hylas had hoped to debut the M49 two years ago, but Covid stalled the plan. Now, after a few improvements, it’s finally getting its show premiere.

Voltari 260

miami superyacht show

Think of it as proving a point. Typically, this new, Canadian-built, all-electric Voltari 260, with its high-torque, 700 hp motor, can slice through waves at a feisty 60 mph. But to set a record for the longest overseas distance for an electric “vehicle” completed on a single charge, the $450,000 Voltari had to dial things back. To a more leisurely 5 mph. That is how this stealthy-looking, carbon-fiber runabout recently ran from Key Largo, Florida across the turbulent Gulf Stream to Bimini in the Bahamas—91 miles door to door—in under 20 hours. It’ll be back in full performance mode for its Miami show debut as a poster child for electromobility on the water.

Leopard 40PC

miami superyacht show

South Africa’s Leopard Catamarans has a hard-to-resist “try before you buy” offer on its brand new Leopard 40PC power cat that’s making its global debut in Miami. Thanks to close ties with The Moorings charter company, potential buyers can simply rent one, for a week, maybe two, maybe longer. And it should be a blast. With the option of twin 370 hp diesels, the 40PC—or Moorings 403 PC as the charter version is called—can hit a top speed of 23 mph. This new kid brother to Leopard’s bigger 46 PC and 53 PC models has space for six in three cabins and the largest flybridge ever seen on a 40-foot power cat.

Feb 12, 2025 - Feb 16, 2025

The Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show returns to Greater Miami & Miami Beach February 12-16, 2025 bringing with it over 1,000 exhibitors, boats and activations. It’ll span six locations across Miami and Miami Beach, making it the world’s largest boat show with an estimated $1.3 billion in economic impact. The Boat Show has also joined forces with SuperYacht Miami to bring the biggest and most luxurious yachts in the world to Watson Island for a special VIP showcase. Whether you’re in the market for a boat or just want to see the latest toys on the water, the Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show has something for you to enjoy, and there’s easy transportation between all six venues.

Read on for details on the 2024 event

How to best experience the boat show.

How you experience the boat show depends entirely on what you want to see and do. If you’re looking to peruse boats under 49 feet, the Miami Beach Convention Center in South Beach is your spot. The newly renovated convention center will be filled with boats, engines, accessories, electronics and boat-related retail. So whether you’re shopping for a boat or just a new Bimini top for your center console, you can find it here.

Across the causeway at Herald Plaza in Downtown Miami , you’ll find thundering powerboats alongside modest yachts in the 30-125-foot range. There will also be engine manufacturers and retail specific to the boats on display.

If you’re looking to get out on the water, head to the Venetian Marina near Downtown. You’ll find 150 vessels ready for test-drives and a bevy of brokerage boats, too.

Those who prefer wind-powered vessels should make their way to the Museum Park Marina in Downtown Miami, where the latest in sailboats, catamarans and sailing accessories will be in the water.

If you’re in town to shop for a mega yacht, make plans to visit SuperYacht Miami at Yacht Haven Grande Miami . The largest and most impressive boats on the high seas will sit sparkling in the sun at The Deck at Island Gardens, beckoning the world’s elite to see what over-the-top advances shipbuilders have developed. Access to this event is only available to Windward VIP or SuperYacht ticket holders.

What to Do at the Boat Show

The boat show isn’t just for people looking to buy boats. Nor is it for people who just want to look at boats. Across the street from the convention center in Pride Park , you’ll find the Progressive Boat Show Experience , a venerable carnival of boating fun filled with food, seminars and even some tips on how to fix your boat. The Experience’s centerpiece is the Nautical Ventures AquaZone, a 40,000-gallon freshwater pool in which you’ll find watercraft demos and product testing. Try out the latest in nautical technology.

On Thursday and Friday nights, SFC Live! will stream live from the Progressive stage, as Peter Miller and Robbie Floyd discuss the world of professional sport fishing and what to expect in the upcoming season. Throughout the weekend, you can also enjoy fishing seminars by the experts at CHAOS Fishing. And those looking to educate their kids about the wonderful world of angling can enroll them in Hook the Future’s Kids Fishing Clinics with Captain Don Dingman, who’ll teach them about different species of fish and fishing techniques.

If you have a boat that’s giving you trouble and need some tips on fixing it, there’s the Fred’s Shed Interactive Learning Center. Mechanics and other boating pros will be on hand to offer free seminars and advice on everything from daily operations to maintenance.

Planning Your Visit

Tickets to the boat show.

The only way into the boat show will be with digital tickets ; you won’t find a box office on-site. Tickets will get you into every venue except SuperYacht. SuperYacht tickets are sold separately, though those with Windward VIP tickets can also access SuperYacht.

Windward VIP tickets also include access to designated lounges at Herald Plaza and the Miami Beach Convention Center as well as a premium open bar and golf cart transportation to the lounges. VIP ticket holders will also receive free shuttle and water taxi transportation between venues and have their own private restrooms.

Getting to the Boat Show

The Boat Show has partnered with SpotHero , a service that helps reserve parking spaces via lots, garages and valet services. You can check for spaces on the app , although those going to the Convention Center will be best served to park at the 17th Street garage a block south. Other venues may have surface lots nearby, but rideshares and public transportation may be easier.

Going between venues is pretty simple, as ticket holders can take free boat show shuttles or golf carts. Shuttles will run in five different loops connecting the venues, and electric golf carts will run between Maurice Gibb Park and the Convention Center and also Herald Plaza and the Venetian Marina.

This year’s show will also offer a water taxi running between all six locations. Tickets are available for $15 per day (they’re included with Windward VIP tickets).

Those coming via Brightline from points north can take a free shuttle from MiamiCentral Station . It’ll stop at several boat show venues.

Where It’s Happening

The show’s home base will be the Miami Beach Convention Center at 1901 Convention Center Drive in Miami Beach .

The Boat Show Experience will be held in Pride Park, adjacent to the Miami Beach Convention Center.

One Herald Plaza is in Downtown Miami, between Bayshore Drive and the Venetian Causeway on Northeast 15th Street. The nearest Metromover stop is the Adrienne Arsht Center station.

This week, some of the biggest names in the industry are set to gather to showcase their latest masterpieces as part of the 2022 Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show . This year’s version of the show sees the Miami International Boat Show and the Miami Yacht Show joining forces to create one of the largest boat and yacht events in the world. If you're heading to Miami from February 16-20 to get in on the action, here are just some of the key sections of the show to look out for.

Six locations

As the show has expanded, visitors can expect to experience even more locations across Downtown and Miami Beach. The smaller boats measuring up to 15 metres will be found at the Miami Beach Convention Center, whereas the superyachts are to be moored at IGY Yacht Haven Grande at Island Garden. The other on-land portion of the event will take place at the newly reimagined Pride Park, where seminars, entertainment and cuisine will be on offer. The rest of the in-water locations are Sea Isle Marina, One Herald Plaza and Museum Park Marina where there will be motorboats, tenders, accessories, sailboats, catamarans and sea trial opportunities.

The superyachts

With more than 71 yachts over 24 metres already confirmed for the show, the largest of the fleet is set to be the 49.83-metre yacht Thunder from Oceanfast. Other large yachts include the 55-metre Amels Gene Machine and her 55-metre Damen Yachting support vessel Gene Chaser , as well as builds from Sanlorenzo and Horizon.

Windward VIP Experience

The Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show is offering VIP ticket holders a tailor-made visit experience named the Windward VIP Experience . Grand evening event

By RSVP’ing via the show’s website, guests can experience the Yachts After Dark event at One Herald Plaza and Sea Isle Marina. Here, those on the guestlist can enjoy music, cocktails and gourmet hors d'oeuvres throughout the evening of February, 18.

Rescued marine life

The show is making a positive effort to run as a socially responsible, sustainably developed and environmentally responsible event. Some of the initiatives include using renewable energy sources and the temporary re-homing of turtles from the Loggerhead Marinelife Center. By relocating any sea trial arranged during the show, boats will be made to avoid the Biscayne Bay where the local manatees can be observed and kept safe as part of the Manatee Protection Plan.

Hours after his Miami arrest on Thursday, June 20, Travis Scott released a t-shirt featuring his mugshot.

The top, currently available on the 33-year-old rapper's merch site , is a black crew-neck with the mugshot front and center. It also includes the phrase "It's Miami" in quotes, which, according to the official police report, is something Scott said to officers after the arrest.

Scott is calling the item the "Free the Rage Tee" and it's priced at $35. The website also states that a portion of the proceeds will go to the Cactus Jack Foundation, a non-profit organization that seeks to "empower and enrich the lives of youth by providing access to education and creative resources to ensure long term success," according to its website .

Per public records, the rapper (né Jacques Bermon Webster II) was arrested in Miami-Dade County, Florida, at 4:35 a.m. local time on charges of disorderly intoxication and trespassing on a property after a warning.

Bond came to a total $650, and records show the bond had been submitted as of Thursday.

"Mr. Scott was briefly detained due to a misunderstanding," his attorney Bradford Cohen said in a statement . "There was absolutely no physical altercation involved, and we thank the authorities for working with us towards a swift and amicable resolution."

Representatives for the Miami Beach Police Department told PEOPLE that Scott was arrested at approximately 1:44 a.m. following an incident at the Miami Beach Marina, located at 300 Alton Road.

In an arrest affidavit obtained by PEOPLE, officers state that they found Scott "yelling at the vessel occupants" after authorities were notified of fighting on a yacht.

"Officers made contact with [Scott] to conduct an investigation," the affidavit reads. "The defendant was asked by officers to sit down, at which point [he] temporarily sat down and then began continuously standing back up, disregarding officers' commands. Throughout the interaction, officers on scene could sense a strong smell of alcohol coming from the defendants' breath."

The complainant did not press charges but asked that Scott leave the vessel. On the walk to the boardwalk, authorities wrote, the rapper "walked backwards yelling obscenities to the occupants of the vessel."

He left the premises but returned to the yacht "approximately 5 minutes later" and, per police, "began yelling once again, becoming erratic, disturbing the peace of the occupants of the marina and nearby residential buildings, causing a public disturbance."

The rapper was then arrested and brought to the Miami Beach Police Department. Police claimed he "later admitted that he had been drinking alcohol and stated, 'It's Miami.'"

Sources familiar with the matter told PEOPLE, "There was no physical altercation with anyone."

"This was a rowdy party and Travis was already bailed out for a few hundred dollars. He is already home," they added. "There will be no further action to be taken as it was a minor incident akin to receiving a ticket with no injuries."

Rapper Travis Scott arrested on disorderly intoxication charge in Miami Beach

Rapper Travis Scott was arrested early Thursday on a disorderly intoxication charge after, authorities say, he yelled at people on a yacht in Miami Beach, Florida, police records show.

Scott, 33, the "goosebumps" rapper whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster, was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center around 4:30 a.m. on a charge of disorderly intoxication, as well as trespassing property after warning.

“Mr. Scott was briefly detained due to a misunderstanding," his legal representative Bradford Cohen said. "There was absolutely no physical altercation involved, and we thank the authorities for working with us towards a swift and amicable resolution.”

Scott was arrested after police were called to the Miami Beach Marina early Thursday on a report of a disturbance on a yacht, according to a Miami Beach police arrest affidavit. A person had called dispatch saying people were fighting on the vessel.

Officers found Scott “standing by the dock yelling at the vessel occupants,” authorities said. At first, he complied with police commands to sit down, but then he disregarded them, officials said. The complainant told police he didn’t want to press charges and just wanted Scott off the vessel, they said.

Officers could sense “a strong smell of alcohol coming from the defendant's breath,” the affidavit said.

Ultimately, he agreed to leave the dock after threat of arrest, but he didn’t go quietly, officials said. During the walk to the boardwalk, Scott “walked backwards yelling obscenities to the occupants of the vessel,” the affidavit said.

He left the marina but returned five minutes later and was seen by officers walking back toward the vessel, authorities said.

Scott spoke to a sergeant he had spoken to earlier and began yelling once again — “becoming erratic” and “disturbing the peace of the occupants of the marina and nearby residential buildings causing a public disturbance,” the affidavit said.

He was taken into custody at 1:17 a.m., the affidavit said. Scott later admitted that he had been drinking alcohol and said, “It’s Miami,” it said.

Later Thursday, he shared a photo of his mug shot, edited with sunglasses and headphones on, on his Instagram story.

Scott and Kylie Jenner, who are no longer together, share two children: Stormi, 6, and Aire, 2.

He was arrested just eight days before he’s set to start his European tour, Circus Maximus, in the Netherlands.

Travis Scott's Lawyer Says Arrest Was 'Due to a Misunderstanding' as He Thanks Authorities for 'Amicable Resolution'

I n a statement obtained by PEOPLE, attorney Bradford Cohen said "there was absolutely no physical altercation involved" in Scott's Thursday arrest

Travis Scott ’s lawyer is speaking out after the rapper was arrested in Florida on charges of disorderly intoxication and trespassing on a property after a warning.

On Thursday, June 21, the same day as Scott’s arrest, attorney Bradford Cohen released a statement obtained by PEOPLE that says, "Mr. Scott was briefly detained due to a misunderstanding. There was absolutely no physical altercation involved, and we thank the authorities for working with us towards a swift and amicable resolution."

Sources familiar with the matter also told PEOPLE, "There was no physical altercation with anyone" following the 33-year-old rapper's arrest.

"This was a rowdy party and Travis was already bailed out for a few hundred dollars. He is already home," they added. "There will be no further action to be taken as it was a minor incident akin to receiving a ticket with no injuries."

Representatives for the Miami Beach Police Department told PEOPLE that Scott (born Jacques Bermon Webster II) was arrested at approximately 1:44 a.m. on Thursday following an incident at the Miami Beach Marina. According to an arrest affidavit obtained by PEOPLE, officers noted that authorities were called to the property on complaints of fighting on a yacht. Upon arrival, they allegedly found the artist "yelling at the vessel occupants."

"Officers made contact with [Scott] to conduct an investigation," the affidavit read. "The defendant was asked by officers to sit down, at which point [he] temporarily sat down and then began continuously standing back up, disregarding officers' commands. Throughout the interaction, officers on scene could sense a strong smell of alcohol coming from the defendant's breath."

The complainant didn’t want to press charges against the rap star, but did request he leave the vessel. Police said Scott was then warned to leave the dock "or he would be arrested.”

Authorities also said Scott left the premises at one point but returned "approximately five minutes later, disregarding officers' commands not to go."

"[Scott] began yelling once again, becoming erratic, disturbing the peace of the occupants of the marina and nearby residential buildings, causing a public disturbance,” the affidavit noted. He was then arrested and transported to the Miami Beach Police Department.

According to public records, Scott was booked in Miami-Dade County around 4:35 a.m. local time. His disorderly intoxication and trespassing charges came with a bond — which was submitted as of Thursday — of $650 total, $150 for the former and $500 for the latter.

Police claimed that after the "Meltdown" rapper’s arrest, he "later admitted that he had been drinking alcohol and stated, 'It's Miami.’”

Scott’s latest legal troubles come nearly one year after a Texas grand jury declined to pursue criminal charges against him following the 2021 Astroworld Festival tragedy , where 10 people were killed and thousands injured after a crowd crush.

In a statement previously obtained by PEOPLE, the rapper’s attorney Kent Schaffer said, "Today’s decision by the Harris County District Attorney confirms what we have known all along — that Travis Scott is not responsible for the AstroWorld tragedy. This is consistent with investigative reporting by numerous media outlets and federal and state government reports that have squarely placed the onus for event safety crises on organizers, operators and contractors - not performers.”

“While waiting patiently for the District Attorney’s decision to not file charges, Travis Scott has been inaccurately and wrongly singled out, despite stopping the show three separate times and being unaware of the events as they were unfolding,” he continued. “Now that this chapter is closed, we hope for the government efforts to focus on what is most important - stopping future heartbreaking tragedies like AstroWorld from ever occurring again."

Scott’s Florida arrest occurred during the European leg of his Utopia-Circus Maximus Tour , which began last October to support his 2023 album, Utopia . The Grammy-nominated rapper’s next shows are scheduled in the Netherlands for June 28 and June 30.

On Friday, June 21, Scott released a new single with DJ Mustard titled "Parking Lot," which appears on the producer's upcoming album, Faith of a Mustard Seed , out July 26.

Travis Scott Arrested In Miami Beach After Allegedly Screaming At Yacht Crew

Rapper Travis Scott was arrested and charged with disorderly intoxication and trespassing early Thursday morning after a warning in Miami Beach, police records show, before he was released—an incident Scott’s lawyer called a “misunderstanding.”

Travis Scott was arrested Thursday, June 20, 2024 in Miami Beach.

Scott, whose legal name is Jacques Bermon Webster II, paid a $650 bail after being booked and was released.

Police responded to the Miami Beach Marina in the early Thursday morning, where Scott was found yelling at the crew of a charter yacht after departing the vessel, an arrest report showed.

The rapper, 33, was asked to leave the marina and did before coming back for a second time and again interacting with the crew, after which he refused to leave the premises and was arrested.

Scott later told police he'd been drinking alcohol and allegedly said "It's Miami” to explain his behavior.

Scott has been arrested several times before, including twice on charges related to inciting a crowd —he was arrested at Lollapalooza in 2015 for encouraging fans to jump barriers and in 2017 for prompting fans to overrun security at a show.

Scott was last year accused of punching a sound technician in the face during a performance at a nightclub in New York City but was not arrested and his attorney later said the incident was a "misunderstanding."

Bradford Cohen, an attorney for Scott, said he was “briefly detained due to a misunderstanding. There was absolutely no physical altercation involved, and we thank the authorities for working with us towards a swift and amicable resolution.”

Key Background

Travis Scott is one of the most successful rap artists of the last decade. He has been nominated for 10 Grammys —most recently for "UTOPIA" as Best Rap Album. He became a mainstream artist in 2016 with the release of his record "Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight," which was on the Billboard 200 chart for 286 weeks, including a week at No. 1. His 2018 album "Astroworld" spent three weeks at No. 1 and he's had four songs top the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He has two children with Kylie Jenner, the youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner family.

A total of 10 people between the ages of 9 and 27 died in 2021 during Scott's performance at the Astroworld Festival in Houston. Scott founded the festival in 2018. The deaths occurred when an over-capacity crowd rushed the stage during the performance at NRG Park, and victims were later found to have died from compression asphyxia. Within weeks, injured victims had filed a $2 billion lawsuit in Houston. Scott was never indicted on any criminal charges, and a Harris County grand jury instead found that "no single individual was criminally responsible" for the deaths or injuries. Scott has since been criticized for continuing to play even after being told people had died, a 1,266-page report issued by the Houston Police Department showed, and for not ensuring safety at the festival. Scott has since argued that he was not a part of planning logistics for the festival and was not responsible for any decisions made around security or crowd control. In April, a Houston judge ruled that Scott could be held civilly responsible in lawsuits filed over the deaths. All Astroworld wrongful death cases have since been settled .

Rap star Travis Scott was arrested in South Beach. There was a yacht incident, police say

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

Rap star Travis Scott has been released from a Miami-Dade County jail after his Thursday morning arrest in South Beach on trespassing and disorderly intoxication charges.

Online Miami-Dade Corrections records say Scott, 33, who was booked into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center under his legal name “Jacques Webster,” posted $650 bond.

Scott, who hit Miami in January as part of his Utopia-Circus Maximus Tour, posted to social media platform X after his release “Lol.”

Lol — TRAVIS SCOTT (@trvisXX) June 20, 2024

An arrest report says Miami Beach police were called to the Miami Beach Marina, 300 Alton Rd., at around 12:44 a.m. after the caller “stated that there were people fighting” on one of the yachts.

“Mr. Scott was briefly detained due to a misunderstanding,” said Scott’s attorney, Bradford Cohen of Fort Lauderdale’s Cohen & McMullen. “There was absolutely no physical altercation involved, and we thank the authorities for working with us towards a swift and amicable resolution.”

Miami Beach police say when they got to the marina, Scott was standing by the dock yelling at people on the yacht. When asked by officers to sit down, the arrest report says, Scott would sit down briefly then resume standing.

“Officers on the scene could sense a strong smell of alcohol coming from [Scott’s] breath,” the report said.

The person who had called police “stated that he did not want to press charges and just wanted [Scott] off the vessel.”

Scott walked back to the boardwalk, the arrest report said, occasionally walking backwards and “yelling obscenities” to the people on the yacht. He left in a waiting car, the arrest report said, but returned about five minutes later.

“[Scott] bypassed officers in the parking lot of the marina, disregarding officers’ commands to not go,” the report said. “Once [Scott] began speaking to Sgt. (Jorge) Lemus, [Scott] began yelling once again, becoming erratic, disturbing the peace of the marina occupants and nearby residential buildings, causing a public disturbance.

“[Scott] also disregarded officer’s warnings to not return to the Miami Beach Marina.”

At Miami Beach police headquarters, the report said, “[Scott] admitted that he had been drinking alcohol and stated, ‘It’s Miami.’”

Radio host Andy Slater first reported Scott’s arrest on social media.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more is learned.
