We are excited you found this page, if you are here you must be curious about joining the SCYC.  Hopefully by now you have seen we are an organization focused on promoting maritime fun.  We have great sailing programs for kids and adults.  We also like to have fun! Our club, our food, and our members offer an opportunity to meet old friends and new ones in a one of a kind environment.  When you join the St. Croix Yacht Club you will become part of a proud legacy of island friends and sailors started in 1952.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Club was formed for the express purpose of promoting interest and activity in the ownership, racing and cruising of yachts and small boats; of providing a meeting place for members whose common interest lies in ships and the sea; of augmenting the recreational facilities and visitor attractions of the island; of exchange and courtesies with other yacht clubs of the United States and Caribbean islands, and of extending to visiting yachtsmen the hospitality of St. Croix.

What do you need to do next?  The process is straightforward.

Prospective members must also supply:

1. A completed application including a brief note (in the application) describing your reasons for desiring membership.  This is a quick overview to board members introducing yourself and telling us why you would like to join. 2. A letter from each of your two (2) sponsors.  These can be sent as emails to [email protected] .  The member should say how they know you and why they think you will be a good fit at the club. 3. You will be billed for the appropriate initiation fee.  The initiation fees are listed below based on membership type.

Once prospective members complete an application to the board of directors for consideration:  

1. When an opening occurs, applicant will be notified that the application has been activated. 2. Dues will be prorated through to the end of the year. 3. Applicants names will be posted at least two (2) weeks prior to the Membership Committee meeting. 4. Sponsors are responsible to introduce applicants to the Officers, Members of the Board, the Membership Committee, and to as many members of the Club as possible throughout this period. Resident applicants and their sponsors are expected to attend.

“Membership Sunday” on the date specified in their letter of acceptance. Non-Resident applicants are expected to attend if “On-Island.”

The vast top deck provides comfortable seating either in the sun, or shaded areas.

The forward portion of the flybridge may be enclosed at your request. An intimate salon and two bathrooms welcome you below deck. The Lady Chateau departs from the Stillwater Yacht Club on the beautiful St. Croix River.

Welcome to YBC on the St. Croix River! Located between the states of Wisconsin and Minnesota, the St. Croix offers miles of pristine beauty, peaceful solitude and outstanding fishing for almost every species in the Midwest. Be aware that high water levels in the spring and after high rains can produce unpredictable and swift currents and moving debris such as logs, docks, whole trees and other wayward items. Low water levels can introduce hazards such as stumps and rocks both above and below the water’s surface.

Please note the following boating parameters: Cannot boat North typically due to safety hazards, and as far South as Prescott. Boaters are not permitted to go into the Mississippi River. Can go to Hudson, WI.

Parking & Check-In

Parking: Parking is available on the West side of the Wolf Marine building, staff will direct you. Can unload by the boat house.

Check In: At the blue boat house to the right of Wolfe Marine.

Fishing, Bait & Tackle

Popular fishing includes: Walleye, Sauger, Northern Pike, Muskellunge, Smallmouth Bass, Bluegill, Crappie, Catfish, Lake Sturgeon

According to the Minnesota DNR webpage, “Fishing this portion of the St. Croix can be a great experience. Angling opportunities are limited by access and shallow areas which restrict the use of larger boats. Walleye, sauger and smallmouth bass are the primary target of anglers fishing this stretch of river. A variety of other fish offer additional opportunities. Sturgeon, muskellunge, white bass and catfish are just some of the fish anglers can seek.”

Exploring downtown Stillwater on foot is a great activity as well! There are many local shops, restaurants, and other attractions to stop at. There are places for art lovers, like a unique bead shop called Art’n Soul, and multiple art galleries, including: Stillwater Guild Art Gallery, Galeria Saro, and Indigo Creek Gallery. While you’re exploring downtown, be sure to walk the Historic Stillwater Lift Bridge, which used to connect Stillwater to Hudson but is now a historic icon downtown that you can walk over.

Tubing is allowed for members only at this location (Not allowed for renters).

Tube & rope is available for members with a boat reservation, at no additional cost with annual membership.

Ice: No ice for sale.

Gas: No public gas available.

Rental and member boat reservations will come with a full tank of gas. This is separate from the boat rental cost and you will be charged for the fuel you use on your trip upon your return.

Mulberry Point Yacht Harbor

Welcome to Mulberry Point Yacht Harbor, an association of slip owners. We are located in Stillwater, Minnesota on the beautiful St. Croix River at mile marker 23.5, just a few blocks north of the historical Stillwater Lift Bridge.

All members have use of the parking lots and access to the pool, showers and restrooms. The Stillwater Marina owns and operates all the buildings structures and land along the gas dock, boat hoist and dry stack for boat servicing.

The MPYH is adjacent to PD Pappy’s, Stillwater Marina and West Marine.
