A Summary of Motor Yacht SWIFT 141

Dutch Navy completed motor yacht SWIFT 141 in 1978. As such, she can be categorised as having been built in the Netherlands. SWIFT 141 is a yacht which had naval architecture and design created by Abu Dhabi Mar (Refit) and Abu Dhabi Mar . This superyacht SWIFT 141 is able to accommodate overnight the number of 80 aboard together with around 80 crewmembers. Ready for launch by 1978 the comparatively older interior design exhibits the established conceptualisation which are originating from Jacques Pierrejean (Refit) and the owner who commissioned the yacht.

Abu Dhabi MAR the United Arab Emirates based shipyard who is a renowned name in the yacht industry is responsible for both SWIFT 135 and SWIFT 141. The megayacht SWIFT 141 has a steel hull acquired from the former Royal Dutch Navy Frigates. The yacht features a futuristic design with narrow beam and high propulsive power along with a remarkable interior and exterior designed by the famous Pierrejean Design Studio in Paris.

The New Build & Designing with respect to Luxury Yacht SWIFT 141

Abu Dhabi Mar (Refit) was the naval architecture company involved in the formal vessel composition for SWIFT 141. Also the company Abu Dhabi Mar (Refit) expertly worked on this venture. Interior designer Jacques Pierrejean (Refit) was employed for the creative interior styling. In 1978 she was formally launched to triumph in Netherlands and following sea trials and final completion was afterwards passed on to the new owner. Dutch Navy completed their new build motor yacht in the Netherlands. The core hull was built out of steel. The motor yacht main superstructure is fabricated extensively with composite. With a width of 14.4 m / 47.24 feet SWIFT 141 has impressive size. She has a fairly deep draught of 4.3m (14.1ft). She had refit improvement and modification carried out by 2008.

The TM3B & TYNE RM1C engine powering the yacht is built by ROLLS ROYCE. For propulsion SWIFT 141 has twin screw propellers (lips 5 blades). She is fitted with 2 engines.

First look: Velarca 135 – eco-friendly superyacht

The Velarca 135 is designed to provide motoryacht owners with a greener, less power-hungry alternative

Billed as the ‘next generation’ yacht for eco-conscious cruisers, the Velarca 135 combines a motoryacht-style hull and superstructure with a rather original rig. Finns Sami Lehtonen and Sanna-Kaisa Koivisto are the sailors behind the new Isola Corvus brand, whose concept has been brought to life by Beiderbeck.

Two carbon masts set three hydraulic furling jibs. But the middle one is rigged upside down, with the foot of the sail uppermost. More than anything, it resembles a modern take on the billowing ‘fisherman’ sail deployed by traditional schooners in light winds.

And yet this is anything but a traditional boat. The sails will be in high performance laminate or membrane, their control lines hidden in conduits. The easy-to-handle rig reduces the need for crew on deck, so the eight-strong team can spend more time pampering the guests.

A diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system will be capable of regenerating power under sail, slashing emissions in the process.

The aim is really to provide motoryacht owners with a greener, less power-hungry alternative. And as such, the Velarca has been conceived to bring a new ease to the activity of sailing a yacht, allied to all the creature comforts that superyacht owners expect.

Key features include an attractive oval-shaped spa pool on the aft deck and two fold-down wings close to the quarters for setting out sun loungers.

There are five or six en-suite guest cabins with double and bunk bed options, and a huge social area on the upper deck which includes a bar and a forward observation lounge.

“We wanted to bring a better, more environmentally friendly alternative to the yacht market, in order for us to make sure the next generations get to enjoy the wonders of the seas as well,” says Lehtonen.

SAILING ON A 135-FOOT SUPERYACHT (+full tour)

Never did I ever think I would be sailing a Superyacht!  A once in a lifetime opportunity.  But thanks to a wild case of serendipity, and our friend Captain Mike, we had what was no doubt one of the best (and most luxurious) days of sailing we’ve ever had!

Captain Mike is a patron of ours that we got to know during our time in New Zealand.  He has been the captain of DESTINATION, a 135-foot aluminum sailing yacht, for almost 20 years.  So, he knows a thing or two about boats and has helped us with more than a few projects.  Including installing our new sails and tramps.

We became good friends and now here we all are in Cannes, France!  It’s been well over a year since our time together in New Zealand.  But the sailing community is a small world (even when the boats aren’t).  We knew we would meet up again but, never did I ever think it would be while he was on the job.

It was an unforgettable experience aboard one of the world’s most beautiful sailing superyachts.  Thank you Mike and Sailing Yacht DESTINATION!

I almost never took vacations growing up. I wanted to be Pippi Longstocking (still do). I misspell about every other word I write and still struggle with grammar. I love splurging on a good high tea (which is really hard to find these days). And whatever you do, don’t tell me I can’t do something, because then I'll HAVE to do it!

Wow. What a Craft! Really the lap of luxury. A lot of tilt. That would probably make my stomach crawl. Amazing one person can sail her! The continuous tilt was very apparent and noticeable to me. The weather was pretty perfect. The open sea was swoosh and beautiful. The thing that got me the most and got my attention was all the polished wood grain throughout. Second, I was attracted to all the comforts of home. The engine room was massive and reminded me of engine rooms in past Navy war movies. Lastly, we cannot forget the amazing and silent pneumatic doors. All things to be enjoyed and become commonplace when traveling on or owning a boat like this. Continued Joy and Happiness,

We toured the HH66 at the Annapolis boat show, and that thing was sick. There is a huge difference in boat design between today and even when ours was built in 2005. The thought and care that go into arranging storage and livability are so much greater now. Ours, at times, seems there was zero thought put into those things and it takes years of living with a boat to correct the deficiencies and make improvements, especially when you are not a cabinet maker. This is all separate from the rigs and systems engineering, which are things we could never afford to either purchase or maintain. I think those things are great, and convenient, and way cool, but expensive to own, and largely unnecessary.

It takes a long time to understand the detail about which you have written. The “expense” of these vessels is incomprehensible for mere mortals. As someone who has had to fund these costs (for inventory) its fair to say that the annual cost is not less than 10-15% of the market value including basic crew and excluding charter party costs. But to those that own them, largely irrelevant to them as are the costs of private aircraft and multiple homes. Hard to conceive but that’s the nature of equity, everywhere.

Source: SBU hits 2 oil depots in Russia's Krasnodar Krai

Ukraine's State Security Service (SBU) hit two oil depots in Russia's Krasnodar Krai overnight on May 9, a source privy to the information told the Kyiv Independent.

The SBU launched a "successful" drone attack on oil depots in the region's village of Yurovka, according to the source.

The oil depots damaged in the attack are reportedly transshipment points for fuel supplies for Russian forces based in occupied Crimea.

"The SBU will continue to reduce Russia's economic and logistical potential for warfare," the source said.

The operational headquarters of Krasnodar Krai claimed earlier in the day that six drones attacked an oil depot in Yurovka.

According to the Russian authorities, the attack caused a fire and damaged parts of the facility. No casualties were reported.

The fire was allegedly extinguished at around 7:40 a.m. local time.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) carried out a drone strike against Krasnodar Krai overnight on April 27, targeting the Ilsky and Slavyansk oil refineries and a military airfield. The oil refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban later suspended its operations due to the attack.

Ukrainian forces have launched a series of drone strikes aimed at damaging Russia's oil industry this spring. A large-scale attack against Russian energy infrastructure on April 20 reportedly started a fire at a fuel storage tank in Smolensk Oblast.

Strikes against Russian energy targets have prompted criticism from U.S. officials , who have made it clear that Washington does not support Ukraine's attacks on oil refineries, citing fears that it could threaten the global energy market .

In response, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Kyiv has the right to use its own weapons with retaliatory strikes on Russian oil refineries.
